driver window(power) sticks in down position. Playing with the switch occasional would get the window up, finally on a day with 120 degrees plus, it would not come up. NOT a heat problem, did it in cold too. Mechanic worked three days to find the problem that we thought was a switch, we burned out four switches, finally changing out the motor, still the switches blew, changed all wiring, same thing. removed all new parts and reinstalled all the old ones, it started working....for a while, Even the GM dealership will not tackle it since the new parts had come from them. I see other 2000 Chevy models have the same problem.....has anyone come up with a solution, besides buying a Ford?

The passanger side power window went down and will not come up. Did it jump track? The event was some what noisey. I need advice on how to take off the door panels and see if the window is off its track.
Update from Feb 7, 2012: The passenger side window went down and would not come up. Took off the inside panel to look... found a cable that was not connected. Checvy replacement was an assembly called regulator/cable, cost: $289. The window is now proped up and most likely will never be used again. FYI: Inside the panel is a large piece of styrofoam for noise reduction....Never seen this on any model.
