I have a 2003 montecarlo ss with a 3.8 engine. Recently within the last couple of months my security light has come on. Have been told it is the pass lock. In order to shut it off I stop the car shut off lock and unlock doors and the light goes out. I have also been told this could either shut the car off or not start. Big problem. It could come on while driving or stationary.

2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Consumer requests vehicle recall information.
- Haynesville, VA, USA
We bought this car in July 2003, my wife is the main driver and when she first drove the car her foot slipped underneath the brake pedal after further research I found that the brake pedal in the 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is 1" higher off the floor than other cars and trucks made by GM's her foot has slipped under it again and now she is afraid of driving it in fear of not being able to stop the car when it is really needed. The brake pedal is a safety issue and needs to be fixed it is a manufactures defect and can cause an auto accident or even hitting someone and hurting or killing them as a pedestrian.
