Monte Carlo LS 3.4L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

Less than two months after I purchased the car, I was visiting family. I went to leave, and when I put the car in reverse to back out of the drive way, it was extremely difficult to turn the steering wheel. I had previously had this problem (although not as severe) in my 1998 Grand Prix GT Coupe, so at first I thought nothing of it. But as I reversed further and then put it in drive with the same issue (as well as noticing the battery light in the message center), I became concerned. I ended up taking the car back to the dealership I purchased the vehicle from and they told me they couldn't find anything wrong. They tightened the tensioner pulley, lubed the belt, and found nothing at all wrong with the battery.
