Monte Carlo LS 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,273 miles

I have taken the vehicle to the dealer several times as well as other well known repair facilities and have been told that it is a common issue in Monte Carlos. They state that it isn't something that should be of a concern. It is of a concern to me because I drive my family around everyday in this vehicle. They will not even attempt to work on the vehicle because it is a common issue. It is very annoying and I need it to be fixed.

Monte Carlo SS V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,900 miles

Problem started a few weeks after I purchased the car. I took to the dealer and they "lubed it" stating that they could not find anything wrong with it. After the 4th time bringing the car to the dealer, I told them "don't just put a lube kit on it this time". I advised that the problem was getting worse. The advised me that they knew what the problem was, but could not fix it until they at least "lubed it" 3 times. They told me the car needed a special "boot kit" which was a special order. At this moment, I waiting to get my car back because the dealer called me late in the day and told me they did not have time to get to my car. Let me tell you how "pissed off" I am. I've been getting nothing but aggravation and it seems the dealer could care less. It's a shame, I really like the car but it may not be worth the aggravation. The dealer stated this is a common problem in drive shaft.

Dealer can't find the problem or replicate it. Dealers are incompentent. Their troubleshooting skills are trouble.
