Contacted www.Chevrolet.com(ref.#990018452) and they denied responsibility. They asserted that a bug shield contributed to the failure which caused the hood to fly open, and crack windshield at 55 mph-without warning. $1157 damage, and very nearly an accident! at time of estimate, another S10 hood was in body shop at dennison's for identical reason. If anything, the bugshield aerodynamically pressed down on hood, not up.
