While pulling into a parking lot cable that holds spare tire under vehicle broke. Consumer stated that if this would have happened on highway someone could have been seriously injured.

The cable that holds the tire up has snapped twice now. The first time no damage occured however the second time my truck has sufferd damage due to the potential problem of the inadequate spare tire hoist.

PE99004, spare tire that is held by wire cable assembly broke while driving, causing the spare tire to fall off, almost caused an accident. Cause unknown. Also happened to consumer's Chevrolet truck, S10, 1993 vehicle.
