The contact states the tailgate cable broke during motion and the tailgate slammed down. This happened on 8-20-05. He was going approx. 40 mph.contacted the dealer as well as GM, and they told her that this vehicle not included in previous recalls on older year models.she iwasvery concerned because if her husband was to be carrying a heavy load in the truck, and something fell ou., there could be a very bad accident. The dealer was willing to fix the tailgate at the consumer's cost.
