From what I've been told it is a common problem in S10 pick-ups, with the rear brakes locking up on you to the point to where if you're stopped at a red light, you can leave your truck in drive and get out of the truck and walk down the road and it won't go anywhere until you either give it enough gas to pop it free or put it in neutral then back to drive. The problem is that the rear drums get warped. Why, I have no idea. I went ahead and replaced the drums and brake shoes and it fixed the problem for about 2 months. Then its starting to happen again. If its true that it is a common problem, I'm surprised Chevy hasn't done a recall for it yet. It is dangerous, you tap your brakes in traffic and they lock up and you slide. And no, it's not from speeding because it'll happen at 5mph also.

S-10 Pickup ZR 2 3.2L V6

All 4 brakes will lock up at any time or condition. The truck will start to slow then will completely lock up and will not move. This happens without ever applying the brake pedal. The brakes will remain frozen for about 30 minutes then will slowly release. This is a major problem as I only have about 2 minutes to get off the road before the truck completely stops. This has happened 5 times in the last year. I have taken the truck to local brake garages and dealers but they have no idea what causes the problem
