I was hauling wood, well within weight limitasions, when frame bent at rear axle.

I have had my truck which I purchased used in March 2000, with 13,000 miles on it into the dealer numerous times to identify and correct a problem with the rear end making a clunking sound upon shifting and starting from a coasting position. The first time I was told they could not find a problem, the second time I had the service manager ride with me and he heard the problem, they performed maintenance as delineated in a service bulletin covering changing the oil in the rear end. This did not correct the problem, the problem has gotten significantly worse in the last 6,000 miles. I had another GM mechanic look at the problem and he indicated that the rear end was not properly set up at the point of manufacture and to go back to the dealer and tell them. The third time I had the truck in for this problem, once again I had the manager ride we me and hear the noise again and again. They looked it over, and not wanting to tear into the rear end discounted the problem and inherrent to this vehicle and described the problem as differential torque slap. I am quite concerned about this noise, and the issue of warranty coverage. I dont like having to go back time and time again to resolve a problem and told there is none. I bought the truck to drive not sit in the service bay.

Vehicle's rear end locks up when making turns. Took vehicle to dealer 6 times, replaced entire rear end. Vehicle was fine for 5 weeks, then vehicle locked up again. Consumer states there is a loud popping sound after starting off, dealer replaced differential case, bearings, and axle seals, problem still occurs.

This is an intermittent problem that occurs unexpectedly. When brake is applied pedal goes to the floor, resulting in no braking power. Dealer cannot duplicate the problem. The customer is concerned about safety, since the problem could reoccur anytime in the future. Customer had problems with the transmission and rear gears on rear axle.

On Jan. 17,2000 we were driving through norman, it was foggy, and we hit a slick spot. I over corrected and the truck spun. We hit the crub with the left rear tire and jumped the crub. It looked to be flat but when we tried to pull the truck off the crub and straighten out to put the spare wheel on it would not move or turn. We had it towed to a repair shop who looked at the damage and fixed it. We filed with the insurance because we thought it wasn't covered under warranty. We were told later that the axle should not have bent like it did to begin with.( dot number: Tire size: P235/75R16 )
