First time owning a 2000 silverado and will be the last at least for this generation. Previously owned a 1989 chevy silverado for 5 years and never had problems beside a starter and having to reseal the intake. The 2000 chevy silverado i purchased to replace the older seemed like a deal but boy was I wrong. Nothing but problem after problem with this junk GM puzzled together, tossed a price on and claimed to be reliable. The problems I've had are all similar to others complaints. 1. Rust/rot/broken frame .....CHECK 2. Fuel lines/ brake lines rusted out ......CHECK 3. Dash gauges intermittently work ......CHECK 4. Gone through 2 sets of wheel bearings in 1 year ....CHECK 5. Common lifter tick sounds like a diesel .......CHECK 6. ABS actives slowing down under 30mph scares the crap out of you ......CHECK 7. Door handles plastic and fragile ......CHECK 8. A/C compressor locked up and a costly repair ......CHECK 9. Fuel pump failure .....CHECK 10. Leaf spring shackles disintegrate and punch a gaping in bed ......CHECK
