- replace fuel pump (5 reports)
Valve failed in fuel pump allowing fuel to return to fuel tank when engine is turned off. This emptied the fuel line and required several attempts to start the engine before the fuel line was recharged.

Fuel pump failed, 1st time, at approx. 90,000 miles. Major cost and inconvenience. $1000 because had to get to the pump in the tank, and replace the sensor unit as well. Replaced pump failed at 120,500. Dealer says they'll pay for the fuel pump but not the sensor unit, which seems to be OK, but "as long as we're in there, might as well.." $300 for the portion they won't cover. I may contest because I wouldn't have to replace the sensor unit if "their" fuel pump hadn't failed within 30,000 miles or so.
Dealer does all the major service because of the convenience factors for me. They are generally good, but I'm beginning to wonder...

Apparently the fuel pump is somewhat defective according to the shop that replaced it.
The truck still ran, just started weird.

We took our vehicle to Yellowknife Motors 3 x over a 6 month period complaining that the engine was hesitating. Every time we were told it was our imagination. On the 3rd time we took it in for a service as we were doing a 3000km + road trip and wanted to make ABSOLUTELY sure everything was ok. Again, we were told there was nothing wrong. I drove down to Edmonton two days later, and lo & behold, got stuck on a highway over 100 km from the nearest town with no cell service. I then had to rent another truck as mine was going to take a few days to repair. All in all it cost me well over $2000 plus expenses and grievance. Yellowknife Motors refused to reimburse any of the cost and claimed none of it was their responsibility.
