About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Have been seeing this situation when I fill up my fuel tank: The message center will show "low fuel" and the fuel gauge will be on "empty" when I do fill up with fuel. I have to move the "shifter" back and forth from "park" to "drive" a few times in order for the "message" to disappear and the "fuel gauge" showing "full".

The rubber hoses run from the top of the fuel tank then down the front of the fuel tank, are loosely clamped, then connect to the metal lines that run along the frame of the truck. The clamps appear to be hard sharp-edged plastic. My problem is that the one line completely failed and was leaking. Then spraying gas from beneath the truck. The danger of heat from the catalytic converter setting the truck on fire was my primary concern. I contacted the Chevrolet customer assistance center and they opened ticket 1-48530166. They advised me to get the vehicle to an authorized Chevrolet dealer which I did. They have estimated the repair cost to be $370. I feel that this an important safety issue that needs to be addressed immediately. The assembly is mickey mouse at best. This truck has less than 40000 miles and already these lines have worn through spraying fuel underneath my vehicle. It is hard to imagine that Chevrolet has not seen this already yet no mention is made of this problem on their web site. Of course not many 2000 trucks will have 40000 miles on them yet. I will be happy to cooperate in any manner on this issue.

I have had problems with this vehicle since I bought it. My brakes habitually fail if I hit a bump while braking, and I have been told by both the dealer and the manufacturer that my brakes are operating within the normal specs for this vehicle and the driving conditions in my area. They do nothing to fix the problem. I use my personal vehicle to respond to fires and medical emergencies, and am concerned that I will have an accident en route to help someone. Also, my automatic transmission occasionally goes into neutral while stopped in traffic, or will not engage upon putting it in 'drive', but the dealership is unable to duplicte the problem, so they say they can't fix it. My fuel pump has failed and been replaced more than once. My windshield wipers repeatedly fail on the passenger side.

Engine light stays on;motor roars;in shop 5 times;replaced fuel injectors, fuel filter, fuel injectors again, replaced gaskets, O-rings, brake line, etc. Because they said there was water in gas tank causing the problem. Service engine lights stays on, motor still making noise, 200 miles from being out of warrenty. This problem has continued for 7,000 miles and going on 7 months. Cannot leave town in my new truck, cannot get withing 30 miles of home, stays parked in yard. This vehicle is a piece of made in the usa trash. Lemon?
