About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Safety issue: 2002 Chevy 3500 1 ton dually (53,000 miles). Truck brakes starting acting funny. Take truck dealership for brake inspection. Dealer charge $$ for inspection and informed us that all 4 brake rotors were rotten (beyond repair). Not wore but rotten. Seems they use re-cycled material in their brake rotors. Seem this is a major safety issue because rotors could fail completed due to rot and cause vehicle to lose brakes. Cost of replacement is $2000.

Parking brake failed and does not hold when engaged been about a year now and was told there was a recall so I'm waiting to see if this is the case Chevy told me my truck was not considered in the recall so I would like to know if I'm the only one with this problem
