This 04 Silverado has frame rust to the point of safety concerns. The spring hangers have chunks of rusty metal falling off. This is no surface rust. The whole frame looks like it sat in the ocean for several years. The frame rails have large rust blisters everywhere, and the metal peels off in sheets. Again, this is not surface rust. This is a result of seriously inferior steel to shave a few bucks off of manufacturing costs. I owned a '92 CK1500 for ten years, and it didn't have one tenth the corrosion that this much newer truck has, and both trucks came from the same area here in upstate NY where I continue to reside. Toyota was given a serious spanking for the same problem by the Feds. It's now GM's turn.

I can not believe how much rust is on the undercarriage of this truck--looks like it was parked in the ocean for a year--just had to replace the brake lines due to breakage-and now waiting for the next lines to break--hard to be brand loyal when you see such corrosion- its bullshit
