Sept 2008 i purchased a used 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD 4x4 in my town Clovis California from a used car rip off dealer ship (SIERRA MOTORS) on Clovis ave 93612 (not in business anymore) my story is that I bought a nightmare. 60 days after purchase of this vehicle the registration should have arrive from DMV. i received a letter from SIERRA dealer to please take the purchased vehicle to a certified smog station (their buddies) for the vehicle to get register, (apparently they sold the vehicle to me with out them making sure it will pass smog) make the story short i made an attempt to return the vehicle. they offer to pay to pass smog ($550.00) SIERRA MOTORS out of pocket. good and dandy my truck pass smog and they even deliver back to my house. ($50.00 tip to the driver)
1 week later the check engine light came on, i brought it back to same smog place, after they diagnosed the problem the good news is the diagnostic is Free. to repair the problem they gave an estimate of $1000.00 more or less to drop the fuel tank and do what ever is needed to eliminate having the check engine light from coming on again. i have the money but i am not about to get sucker in twice.
i bought a OBD2 error reader & reset the error code. code is for fuel evaporation emission. every so often i have to reset to clear all error. the real problem i have is when filling up the fuel tank with gas, the gas pump has to be in real slow filling other wise the pump keeps on tripping meaning to fill the tank takes almost 20 to 30 minutes when almost empty. if i get lucky Arco gas station some pumps don't have rubber bonnet on the nozzle then i can fill my tank slow but continuously pumping19 minutes to fill the tank, it has to be slow because you can hear the gas inside the tank gargling and if i don't stop, the gas inside the tank will come back out. I love driving my truck but I hate putting gas in it, what could be the problem? for every so called mechanic i inquire, $1000.00 the lowest estimate i get.
