problem #2

Dec 152004

Silverado 8-cyl Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,000 miles
The contact stated the driver's power adjusted seat malfunctioned. When exiting the vehicle the seat was sliding forward instead of backward to let the driver out of the vehicle. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership for inspection three times. On the third time the dealer unplugged the seat. The manufacturer was contacted, and they were in touch with the dealership. The dealer and the manufacturer concluded that the seat was performing correctly. However, at this time, the dealer left the seat unplugged since they could not repair it.

Silverado 4WD 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100 miles
Easy exit and keyless entry function on key fob do not operate 10 way power seat. On exit seat goes full back, but has to manually be repositioned to setting 1 or 2. key fob 1 and 2 do not postion seat to pre-set positions 1 and 2. dealer noted the computer information center does not (this year) have the question concerning options for activation of the easy exit button. Therefore, it could be concluded there is a software issue in the computer program. I.e. if the user never selects one of the options for the easy exit/key fob programs, they may well be in the default mode (not activated) this issue has been reported to dealer and GM (case number opened).
