just bought the truck at a local gm dealer on may 29 2015 and on june 1 2015 had the abs brake problem. call the dealer they said there was no recall on it but i have talked to a service tech that worked for the dealer for 12 years and he said that they have fixed a lot of them on other years for the same thing, but for some reason the 2006 is not on the list that is good old goverment motors for you i mean general motors !!!!!!!!

THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE 2000 AND IS COVERED BY A RECALL UP TO 2005 . WHY IS THE 2006 NOT COVERED??????? IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM.

When braking at low speeds, the abs system is engaging and the vehicle will not stop where you intended to stop. It goes several feet before stopping increasing the risk of accident by rear ending someone or ending up in the middle of an intersection. I took the truck to my mechanic who told me that there is a technical bulletin on this problem. The technical bulletin says that the cause MAY be an increased air gap between the wheel speed sensor and the hub reluctor ring due to rust and debris built up on the sensor mounting surface. My mechanic followed the instructions for correction and they did not work. The ABS system continues to engage. My mechanic says he has spoken to others with the vehicle and the only solution is to replace the system costing over $1000. The other solution which others have done is to remove the fuse for the ABS leaving you without anti-lock braking. GM issued a recall for other model years for this problem but has not addressed it with the 2006. Unfair!

GM should be responsible to fix this problem, seeing it is a safety concern with faulty equipment. I have had other vehicles that have had safety recalls for other items like airbags deploying. One would think that Brakes would be an important item as well.
