I've noticed that at highway speeds the truck often seems to have (but not always), a drifting feeling along with a chattering/vibration during the performance of a turn.

I think chevy should recall these trucks and fix rattling in steering for free. The steering column knocks and bounces and I don't know what is wrong with it.

Replaced with a Dorman 425-176 intermediate steering shaft, easy to DIY and cheap. Nice to get rid of the constant slow speed clunking.
