I have a tow package on my 2007 Chevy Silverado and never did use it for hauling at all. I was driving down the interstate when my transmission decides to stick in gear and cause my rpms to burst so high it didn't take NO time for transmission temp. to jump through the roof. Now i lost 1st.gear, 3rd, 4th and reverse. Lucky for me it was still under the power train warranty .. took dealership 4 days to fix it and get it back to me. I was pleased with "Red River Chevrolet" and how they handled the situation but then again this is under warranty... Transmission #2 "will be continued "

Continued: round #2 transmission #3. 6 months later and I'm replacing yet another transmission in my 2007 Silverado. Now I'm a bit curious to why GM has had the nerve to f*ck over the American people the way they have. I grew up knowing nothing but Chevrolet and the first time i get my own truck its a f*cking LEMON. but GM wants to think otherwise. This time ilost every gear that i had. This is bullshit GM you need to grow some balls and admit y'all f*cked up an fix everyone's problems that relate to mine.
This time it was 2 weeks in the shop before I got it back and when I did get it back my truck poured out transmission fluid all over my friends driveway. Back to the shop it goes. 4 more days.. for the price that us customers have to pay to begin with. GM you should have all quality parts that work and stay working at 100% for the life of the truck.. quit tryin screw us over... GM..."to be continued"

This truck has only 77,012 miles on it and the transmission is out. Chevy's warranty is now done and our extended warranty has not yet said yay or nay. Of course, the fact that this is our FIRST problem on THIS warranty makes no difference. Here it is Feb. 29 and the truck is not driveable. GM does a really lousy job of building vehicles. Back in the early 1980's, we had a brand new Buick Skylark and - after 60,000 miles - the transmission went out on that one. We took it to the dealer and they put ANOTHER USED TRANNY IN IT. Now - here we are again.......same problem but - WE DID NOT TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AS THEY ARE AS CROOKED AS THE MANUFACTURER. The truck is at a transmission shop just waiting for the yay or nay from the warranty company. All I can say right now is......I never want a GM anything again and - as for the warranty - I'm sure glad I am not stranded out in Wyoming where any real town is far, far away. Now I fully understand why GM's warranty is for only 30,000 miles or 3 years. They do this with hopes you will buy a new one at 2-1/2 years.

Bought this truck from my elderly neighbor, he purchased it new, I bought it from him in July of 2013 it had 15000 miles on it. Have driven it since then without any serious problems, my Grandson borrowed it yesterday and called this morning to say as he was coming back to my house it made a loud clunk and then when only run in 1st gear. He was not far from home so he took it back there, now I must have it towed and repaired, great!! I had a 2006 Avalanche with just over 80000 on it when the tranny failed on it beginning to think I may not buy another GM, Have always driven GM products since 77 when I had a new Grand Prix, have had Olds, Caddies and Chevy's. I am really disappointed with GM and may have to switch!!

I'm was driving on I-95 and heard a loud bang from beneath me. My engine starts revving up and there is no power to the drive train. I move over to the slower lane and coast towards an exit. I shifted to 3rd gear at the top of the ramp and heard a second loud bang and then 3rd gear was gone. I coasted to a stop and put it into 2nd gear and drove 100 yards to a gas station. The oil transmission temp was 185 degrees, it had plenty of fluid and I could see no shavings on the dipstick. I was towed to a dealership where they told me it would be $3,500 to replace with a new transmission with a 3-yr warranty. I have 33,000 miles on the truck and never towed anything or used it for more than a second/third car. I'm very disgusted with GM right now and would like to know if others have had this problem and how they resolved it.

We own a 2007 1500 Silverado with only 52000 miles. We were at a stop sign and the truck failed to engage into 1st gear. This is a very well kept truck that looks brand new and has been well taken care of. Oil changes on time, all services done at the time they are due. The problem lies in Arizona even though I live in Virginia. As far as I know, the dealer didn't even drop the pan to confirm that it was a transmission issue. I spoke with my original dealer and he said that he was would definitely looked further into the problem before he charges me 3,350.00 for a transmission. Lawley in Sierra Vista has no clue what a good customer they will be losing as I have lost all faith. I guess it is because I from out of town and didn't purchase the vehicle from them. It shouldn't matter. GM/Chevy is GM/Chevy. Needless to say, they have lost their next deal with me. If I can't have faith in a truck that only makes it 1/2 through their 100,000 mile guarantee, they don't need me. This is my 7th Chevy with them. Let them go find some other sucker to deal with their sales because I will not be back.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN RT 81 IN VA AT ABOUT 75 MPH AND THE TRANSMISSION LET GO. WE PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD CHECKED ALL FLUIDS AND THEY WERE FINE . STARTED BACK OUT AGAIN AND HAD NO SECOND OR THIRD GEAR , GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE AND DROVE RT 11 HOME AND BACK TO AAMCO WHERE I HAD IT FIXED. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT BEFORE IT JUST LET GO . THE TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN SERVICED AS SUGGESTED BY MY GM MANUAL.THIS TRUCK STILL LOOKS NEW AND HAS NEVER BEEN USED FOR ANYTHING OTHER THEN A SECOND CAR. GM NEEDS TO STEP UP AND FIX ALL THESE COMPLAINTS . I HAVE DROVE GM PRODUCTS ALL MY LIFE AND KNOW WONDER IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY WAY OF THINKING. WHEN AAMCO CALLED GM ,THEY JUST SAID IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY AND NOTHING THEY SHOULD OR WOULD DO ABOUT IT .THIS WAS A $3,000.00 REPAIR BILL . WHY WANT GM PUT 100 K WARRANTY ON THERE TRUCKS AND CARS OR DO WE ALL NEED TO DRIVE THOSE THAT DO.

68000 miles, never done any heavy towing, maintained following mfg. and Failed transmission.

Torque converter failed introducing metal into the transmission system. I was 500 miles from home with my family. This cost us an additional 3 days stay that was unplanned because the truck would not make it back.

Failed in the driveway. Had to have it towed to a dealership. $600 for them to diagnose the problem. Chevy wants dealer to tear it down and diagnose it at my cost. Dealer says its cheaper for me to put in a re-manufactured unit that comes with a 3 yr/100,000 mile warranty instead of something else breaking on a repaired transmission. I tow a pop up camper a couple of times a year, so the truck doesn't see any hard duty. I had to have the torque converter replaced in July 2012 (11,000 miles ago). The guy at chevrolet who is my representative and supposed to be helping me resolve this issue asked me today: "What do you want from Chevrolet?" I said I wanted them to follow up with me yesterday like I was told they would 2 days ago. He said he'd have to research the problem and see if there was any assistance that chevy could offer me. I thought 2 days ago that I might get some help from chevy, but it seems to me today that they aren't interested in helping me. I talked to the service manager today at the dealer and he said a lady from chevy called yesterday and asked about the condition of the truck, if it looked abused, etc. and he thought that they were going to call me with an update. In the mean time, our 2 vehicle family is down to one vehicle with no relief in sight. I am severely disappointed in my purchase of this truck, and will likely not buy another chevrolet product. It had 15 miles on it when I bought it. It has been to the dealership for repair 4 times in the last 9 months to replace or repair the transmission, 3 window switches, and the vent valve solenoid on the fuel system. Except for the current transmission problem, all of this happened before 85000 miles. I bought this truck new in August 2007.

Anyone know of litigation proceedings related to transmission failure of a 2007 chevy silverado with only 69000 miles?? I should have bought a FORD!!
- duaneohio, Oxford, OH, US
The dealer was great through the whole thing & even gave me another silverado to drive for the week they had it.
Reason for failure, GET THIS... MONDAY MORNING TRANSMISSION, LMFAO!

2007 Silverado LTZ. When in reverse, after putting the truck in a strain, it jumps out of reverse and sounds really bad. This has happened to anyone and what is the fix? The transmission shop said he has never heard of that, he told me to drive it until comes out.
