On the morning of the 18th of Dec. 2020 I was backing out of my garage to run a short drive to complete some things I needed to do. As I backed out of the garage I heard what I thought was a cheap sound, I looked at the info system and it was blank. I had no radio no back up camera. When I got to the street and put the truck in drive the info system came back on but no radio volume but I could see that it was getting a signal because the song playing was displayed.
I drove it to my first stop and turned off the vehicle for about 10 minutes. When I restarted the vehicle, the radio was on but I could not adjust the volume. At my next stop the vehicle was off for about 1 hour. When I restarted it and put in reverse, the info system went bank and no back up or radio. When I put it in drive, the system came on but no volume. At my next stop, the vehicle was off for about 10 minutes and when I started the truck back up, the radio was working but I could not adjust the volume. As I was slowing for a red light in heavy traffic the truck stalled. No engine light until it stalled. I started it again and within minutes I had complete engine failure reported on a different page. The dealership says they have to replace the engine before they can find out what the problem was with the info system.
Update from Jan 10, 2021: After replacing the radio on the infotainment system, the problem of XM radio not working at all or cutting out while drive remains.
