While driving the motor completely cut off. Yes, the vehicle can be inspected. The vehicle just shut down without warning, causing the vehicle to rapidly slow down with no warning to other motorists behind me. Yes, a dealer has confirmed the problem and could not definitively determine what the problem is. they said it could be: A shielded wire, service dept. said its not available from GM and would have to purchase the entire wiring harness and install to see if it fixed the issue. They said it could be a bad power inverter, again had to install to see if it fixed the issue. Finally said it could be a bad transmission(??) The only people who has attempted to diagnose is at the GM dealer service department. Their was no warning that the vehicle was about to turn completely off prior to it doing so.

I have a 2012 Silverado that had an engine light go on. Took to the dealer (carbone Chevy, yorkville NY) the problem was an air leak in the fuel system. The fix, replace gas tank and sending unit, $900. I asked about the warranty, and I was told past mileage, I'm at 39000. I didn't believe this could be possible that a 4-year-old truck could rot out so soon that there must be a problem with these tanks. I called GM to ask, and the woman could not have cared less just listen to me complain and said she would call the customer experience person at the dealership to contact me. That didn't happen. Also said that the corrosion warranty doesn't cover tanks and it's up to me to pay for this. I spent $36000 on this truck and didn't have a scratch on it but now find out it is rotting through like a tin can. My questions are; should this have been covered or recalled" is there anything you can do to help"

The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving approximately 65 mph, the reduce engine indicator illuminated and the vehicle lost power. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road and was towed to a local dealer. The technician diagnosed that the fuel pump shattered and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

I have had a recurring problem with my new 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 lt (5.3 liter engine) going into "reduced engine power mode" which also results in the disabling of stability control and traction control. This is a dangerous condition in that it results in a loss of power while operating the vehicle upon the roadway. An authorized repair facility has replaced the number one and two throttle sensors, the accelerator pedal assembly, the throttle body, the alternator, the computer, and a large ground wire behind the dash. A GM engineer was flown in and now the repair center is replacing the engine wiring harness. The vehicle (which was purchased less than three months ago) has been out of service for approximately 30 days. In researching this matter I have found that Chevy has had an ongoing problem with this in various vehicles in its product line since 2003. Although several service bulletins have been produced there does not seem to be a consensus regarding the cause of this problem. All of the parts associated with trouble codes C0242, P2127, and P2138 have been replaced without result. This condition could result in the affected vehicles being rearended, or, because of the loss of stability and traction control, result in a roll over. This needs to be addressed immediately.
