Silverado 1500 LT 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100 miles

Had 1998 Chevy 2500 ext cab and traded in for 2011 Chevy 1500 ext. cab which had so many problems Chevy took the truck back and gave the choice of 2013 ext. cab or 2014 4 door. I took the 2013 due to didn't want door pillar in the way when loading my crossbow cases in the back seat area. The worst mistake I ever made was trading my 1998 truck which was a garage Queen and basically only came out to go to the gun range or hunting ( Had company vehicle for work) and it only had 80,000 miles on it. The main reason to trade it in was the rear seats were only accessible by sliding front seat forward and lifting whatever you put in rear seat area.

These newer vehicles are all junk.... they can't get out of there own way and I got way better mileage from my '98 than these. And towing a single axle "V" nose cargo trailer that only had 2 freezers in it and a generator the mileage sucks, most of the time less than 10mpg... My old '98 with a 5.7 and 3:73 rear out pulled both of these and some. The '11 had a 5.3 w/3:8 rear (empty) got low 20's if you really watched it --- the '13 with a 5.3 and 3:42 can't find it's way out of a mud puddle and can only give 18's for mileage empty on hi-way and tow anything it drops in 1/2--

At 7500mls. fuel gauge quit. 2 weeks old the lower driver's side rear window trim flew off while on hi-way. The sheet metal they're made of gets any thinner they'll be using Reynold's Wrap, and everything is plastic. The seats REALLY suck, 1 step from a milk crate with a back and on the '13 the door handles are below the arm rests and way too far forward. The window buttons for the front are behind the door pull handle so without looking you're moving the rear window glass.. Satellite radio skips some channels when manually searching like NASCAR is on 90 it skips over it.. Dealer tells me it's the Sirus doing it yet you call and they say it's a mfg's malfunction so if you want to hear the race over the noisy windows you have to have one of those radio converters which means wires on floor or tucked in.. And any snow it looks at, it gets stuck and forced to use 4 wheel dr. even with locking rears, and then it thinks about going --- all junk IMO
