Silverado 1500 LTZ 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,500 miles

I noticed around 12/20 that my headlights would begin to flicker when I was at a stop and I turned my steering wheel a bit, started off small. Out of nowhere I was driving and I turned my turn signal on and dash light and radio flickered turned off and came back on, no sound. When I stopped my lights were flickering and my steering wheel was hard, I turned the truck off and on and went back to normal. At least 3-4 times a week, my headlights flicker and when I turn the steering wheel or put my turn signal on, truck feels like it wants to shut off.

Now 3/21 i was driving on the freeway at 66mph Stabilitrak light flashed out of nowhere twice and truck idle really low, then when I got off the freeway and was turning the truck lost all power and steering was stuck briefly nearly causing an accident, truck pushed forward really hard and went back to normal. When I turned into a parking lot at slow speed it did the same, all dash lights came on including Stabilitrak and lost power and back to normal again. Purchased the truck 6/20. This ain’t cool.

My 2014 Silverado is losing power without the check engine light coming on! When this happens the screen says service stabilitrack, and something about limited steering assistance! I took it back to the dealership and they had it for 8 days and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it! The day that I picked up the truck, it did it AGAIN!! It's not throwing out a code, so they have no idea what to do!! I've read a LOT of comments where people are having the same problem with no solution! I love the truck, but I pay way too much for it to be dying!!

Silverado 1500 LT 4.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission

When turning into parking spot at low speed, electrical system went crazy, screen flashed power steering failure, stabilitrak failure, & engine died. It does this 4 times a week. Stabilitrak light comes on at random times. Oil pressure gauge & Battery gauge fluctuate non stop while driving from LOW-HIGH.When pulling into my driveway at 3-4 mph which is slightly uphill the power steering goes out and the truck completely shut off for 10 secs then turned back on by itself. The A/C does not come on all the time & will come on 5 minutes after driving & me messing with it to try and get it to come on. Transmission is not shifting or downshifting properly.

Taken to the dealership several times, had a new alternator installed by Chevy, spent $700 on it there & they insured me all my problems would be fixed. I am having even MORE problems now! They are unprofessional and scam. The Mechanics have no clue what they are doing.

They scam you into buying things. Chevy is trying to wait until my Power Train warranty goes out so I have to pay out of pocket to fix something that is their fault.

This is my last attempt to take to the Dealer before I Lemon Law it, Chevy will do nothing to fix it. Every time I take it there they tell me "They can't repeat the problem and no codes pop up". They made me pay for a rental through Enterprise after they had my truck for A WEEK and did NO WORK on it, only to get it back and them tell me, "They can't find anything wrong with it.

It is very frustrating to be driving down the road and to try to make a left turn and have your vehicle completely black out. It is very dangerous because you can't even put your emergency lights on.

My 2014 Silverado continues to stall very frequently. Power goes completely out at least once a week. Last time I was traveling 50 miles an hour and the power went out completely, wheel jerked and I had to stop and park and restart on a 55 mile per hour parkway. VERY DANGEROUS!!! It is becoming more frequent now.

Silverado 1500 LTZ 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 31,000 miles

Driving vehicle on a 2-3 hour trip. Got stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. While coming off of gas pedal the dash lights would flicker and then I would get a service stabilitrak or electronic power steering decreased, drive with care. This happened multiple times which included my radar detector resetting because of loss of power. After several minutes of this the truck engine died, the dash when completely black and I had no power to anything. When I attempted to turn on the hazard lights, they would not turn on. This left me in the middle of the lane I was traveling with no way to indicate distress. After the vehicle was placed in park, the info center advised to roll driver window up and down. After doing this I regained power to the truck and was able to continue on my trip. Later the lights would dim when turning directional lights on. On my return trip I had the flickering and service code lights. After stopping for a brief time. Unable to initially restart vehicle. After second attempt it started and displaced a service security system code.

It has been at the dealership for almost a week now and they are unable to replicate issue and state they cannot fix it. This definitely seems like a major safety issue that goes along with multiple other complaints here.

This electrical safety issue has continued since owning the truck for a year and half. I didn't notice it until maybe 25k miles but still having issues at 48k miles. This is a huge safety concern. I will be driving and the vehicle will completely shut off. Stabilitrak is the most common warning light that displays, but also power steering disabled/drive with caution, and anti theft warning detected. I will lose all control of power steering and brakes. I will have to put the truck back into park and attempt to restart it, hopefully it starts, it is not always successful on first few attempts. I seem to notice the system failures more often when on inclines or declines in parking garages. But this problem has occurred on flat parking lots. I do think the problem happens when going from a cruise to a stop. Which makes this a HUGE FREAKING ISSUE potentially trying to stop at an intersection and losing steering, brakes, and power only to run into a family crossing the road. Chevrolet of Hoover ran their diagnostics and could not reproduce th problem. So they regrounded wires and reconnected electrical harness. They did not state X is the issue and here is how we fixed it. I have taken it back since then and they are not able to duplicate problem. I need help addressing this problem. I am beyond concerned driving this truck that it could go out on a steep turn and I would not be able to stop or control direction. I have never performed or had any work done accept by certified technicians at Chevrolet. If anyone knows how to fix this problem or how to mandate Chevrolet to do their job, please email me at crawftc1@gmail.com

Silverado 1500 LTZ 5.3L V8

Steering wheel jerked back to center when trying to turn left. Message came up saying stabilitrack off. Then steering wheel totally locked up and truck completely shut down while in drive. All inside and outside lights blinked constantly until the battery died 32 hours later. All light switches were turned off at the time. Truck would not start. Attempts at jump starting were unsuccessful. Towed to dealership. Battery was changed. No issues since.

Silverado 1500 LT Texas Edition 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission

This issue has been happening for the last several months, but it is just as others have experienced. While driving whether it is 20 MPH or 80 MPH, the vehicle will shut off unexpectedly. Service Stabilitrak will come up on the Information center. If I am in cruise control it will disengage and if my cruise control is on, it will engage on its own. The wheel will jerk if I am in a turn. This happens if I tap on the brake pedal, turn on the turn signal, or turn on my high beams. I have contacted the dealership and they advised that they have heard of this issue, even by one of their own employees. Due to the vehicle shutting off there is nothing being recorded on the ECM. They cannot replicate the issue since it is random. Nothing has been done to fix my vehicle!

I PURCHASED MY 2014 2 WEEKS AGO FROM A FORD DEALER. A WEEK LATER

AFTER COMING TO A STOP I MADE A RIGHT TURN AND AT THAT TIME THE DASH BOARD FLASHED ON AND OFF RAPIDLY ABOUT 3 TIMES AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS PULSATING AND FIGHTING ME TRYING TO TURN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THE CAR STALLED. I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT. IVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH CHEVY BUT I'M AFRAID THEY WONT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. FORD RAN THE CODES AND THEY WERE CLEAN
