Silverado 1500 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 92,000 miles

GM should replace this expansive truck with a new one. The 2014 Chevy Silverado is the worst truck ever made. I should have bought another Ford instead because the last one lasted 10 years with no problems and no major recalls (2003 Ford F 150).

Dealers can sell you a new truck but can't fix one. This truck had problems from the start including shutting off in the middle of driving a scary feeling the clock reset itself its totally possessed apparently they fixed the stabilitrak light from coming on and off (or maybe they disconnected something for a quick fix) put a new battery in just to give enough juice for me to drive it for a few days and now the problem still exist the truck won't crank after spending all that money.

The dealer refused to give me another appointment to bring it back in and I can't spend anymore money to bring it somewhere else as of now I'm unemployed and can't afford this headache. Forgot to mention a burning smell inside the truck before all this started. I wish for this problem to be fixed the right way.

Silverado 1500 LT 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 189,451 miles

Tried to start vehicle first thing in the morning. Starter clicks but won't turn over. Disconnected battery and wait a minute and car started right up. This vehicle has had numerous problems with the car cutting off and getting stabilitrak lights, locks activating, etc. I've tried cleaning and reconnecting numerous grounds, replacing the battery, replacing cables all to no avail.

Silverado 1500 LTZ 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

The vehicle suffered intermittent failures to start (engine would not crank). The initial attempt to repair the issue by the dealer was to replace the battery and negative battery cable. The battery being replaced was less than 3 years old and it was the second battery the dealer had replaced in less than 5 years. The initial repairs failed. Ultimately, the problem was a faulty starter motor. A check of the part number of the factory starter motor that had been removed indicates it is compatible with Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 1500 with the 4.3L V6 engine. However, this vehicle has the 5.3L V8 engine. It appears the incorrect part was installed at the factory or GM determined it is not appropriate for the 5.3L V8 engine and discontinued using it for this model. Regardless, GM never made any notification of the issue.

get home from work, shut off truck and it makes a strange noise! try to restart. only the radio will come on!! no lights, no dash, no nothing!! next day I check the fuses that I know about and can't find anything wrong! had to wait until 3 days later to have it towed to chevy21,{who did a great job as usual!! }, because of a blizzard!! the starter, apparently, was going bad? and drew enough amperage to blow and melt the 150amp fuse buss and everything on top of the battery!! they changed the starter, fuse distribution block, etc.... and upped it to 175 amps!! so now it can melt through to china!! this is the only trouble with the truck so far!!

vehicle is tied in the with the stabilitrak issues

my vehicle is back in the dealership and it is completely dead this time! i am sure it is related to the same piece of manure issue. i am not certain what the real fix is to this or were to get a reliable answer and that is terrible! this will lead me to another page and i will certainly share it here.

dealership cleaned all batery cables/got a brief repair, how about a recall!!!!
