My vehicle's headlamps are so dull I can't see at night. I contacted GM and they offered to replace them if I would pay half the cost, which I was going to do, but I had a heart attack and surgery & was in intensive care for almost a month. When I became able to come home, after I missed my appointment due to this situation, I contacted GM and they said they were not going to help me because I didn't have it done in time. My vehicle is always parked in a garage and well kept. The headlamps are VERY dull and dangerous to drive at night. I would like Gm to replace them as I believe this is a manufacture's defect. I was a GM Dealer for several years and don't believe this is their usual practice, giving them the benefit of the doubt. These are dangerous as I can't see at night and oncoming traffic can't see me either clearly. Please help me. This is DANGEROUS!

I have a 21014 Chevy K1500 Silverado ([XXX]). In 2019 the vehicle started having issues: Steering system started -€œfighting-€ me. When at very low speeds (trying to navigate slow turns as in a parking lot or stopped and starting a turn) the steering system would go back the opposite direction so hard that it would almost pull a muscle in my arm, seemingly wanting to go back to top dead center. Other symptoms of the situation include hot temperatures (90+), Radio on, Air Cond. on, Low speed or stopped, voltage seems low. This had happened many many times to me, to the point that one; I could predict when it would happen, such as making a left turn across traffic at an intersection or parking lot, and two; I would not let anyone else drive the vehicle, because it was a safety issue. I have a video of the issue as I was backing into my garage. Could drive to the store and after a short period in the store attempt to start the vehicle, but the truck acted like it was dead. I would remove the positive cable from the battery for about 10 seconds and put it back and the truck would start. Symptoms of the situation: hot temperatures (90+). This happened several times. I took the truck to Hubler Chevrolet, who told me that a power cable from the battery was defective, but could not tell me what was wrong with it. I declined the work and took it to another mechanic that found that other similar issues have been solved by ensuring that the vehicle is properly grounded to the frame. This solved the issue. Now it is 2021 and I am now losing power steering at low speed turns (parking lot maneuvers, or backing up into my driveway). Temperatures are not a symptom of the issue as it is too late in the year and temps are not that high. The head lights are also blinking when applying the brakes. The vehicle will be in motion and when I try to turn onto a street, or into a parking lot, a warning for service stabilitrak will come on, the steering wheel will lock up, the A/C will turn off, the lcd radio display will go blank, and my headlights will flicker and or turn off. Sometimes the truck shuts off. Has almost caused 2-3 accidents so far... also while traveling at highway speeds, if I have the cruise control on and I put on my turn signal it will turn off the cruise control, and flicker my radio lcd display, and also cause a service stabilitrak warning. Sometimes when I apply the brake, my headlights will flicker, or turn off. Clearly an electrical issue. When researching the problem online there appears to be a recall for other Silverado's with these same issues, but there isn't one currently under my VIN number, however it appears to be the same problem. This has been an ongoing problem and is getting worse. The problem first started around 88,000 miles

This has happened several times on a 2014 Chevy Silverado I bought Apr 2020. The first time was Sep 2020 and diagnosis from the mechanic showed nothing found. Only showed error code that communication with the computer was lost. Code was cleared and it did not do it again until 2 Mar 2021. Upon initial ignition, the message window read "action needed. Roll driver window down and back up, I did this and then it went away. After driving on a flat, paved, dry road at about 35 mph. For no apparent reason, my truck displayed a message that said "stability control", the engine reved, rpms shot up to 5K and instrument cluster flicker several times, radio turned off and then returned to normal. A short time later at a light and the message appeared again, the radio and cluster completely shut off and then the truck suddenly died. I put it in park, and it restarted immediately, only to do it again (started again as well). The first two times this happened, the truck came back on without issue and I was able to safely pull over into a parking lot. It happened again within minutes of the second time and I had just pulled into a parking lot. This time, the truck completely died (no electricity, no ability to use blinkers, hazards, no power steering or brakes ect. Complete outage. After 10 minutes of it not coming on or starting, I called aaa to tow it and while on the phone (approx 30 minutes, it came back to life on its own (radio, instrument panel came on) and it started. I tried to drive it home, and at one light, it died again but restarted and I was able to get it home to make an appointment. I am writing this because of the dozens of cases of the same issues (some of which vehicles died while at driving speeds) with similar year and model GM vehicles on forums. This is a very dangerous issue which does not have a solution by GM and needs to be documented.

Vehicle was in motion with the steering wheel turned into position to maneuver a reverse park. Vehicle loses all power and unable to restart, but the lights flicker. G218 ground is possibly the cause. Nonetheless, this is a highly unsafe and dangerous manufacturer flaw. The following is a public resource I used to identify the possible cause. Truck displays loss of power steering and shuts off everything electrical. When I'm driving at any speeds and turn steering way to fast to either side I'll get message stability trak turned off and followed by radio losing power. Sometimes truck shuts off completely and sometimes truck just acts like it wants to shut off but remains on. There's times where I'll get the message for driver window to roll up and down and windows lose power. I've taken truck to dealership several of times just to lose out on money every time because they haven't fixed the problem and just keep charging.

While moving at low speed attempting to make a turn, vehicle will lose power steering and headlights will dim and flicker. Also sitting at idle vehicle will have no power steering and when turning the steering wheel, lights will dim to almost going out completely. On several occasions when making a turn and this happens vehicle will display that stabil trac has been disengaged. Door locks also unlocked and locked while this was happening. Also when traveling and using cruise control when turning on the turn signals cruise control will disengage and stabil trac notification will come on in display. Dealer replaced battery approximately 6 months ago stating it was bad and these issues mimicked a bad battery. All problems still persist.

I bought this 2014 Silverado new. The headlights are fogging up on the inside which makes it unsafe to drive at night. Also, the steering wheel is coming apart around the air bag, which may get in the way of me safely steering it or might cause the air bags to deploy.this vehicle is stored in a climate controlled enviroment every day. It does not sit outside, so the sun had nothing to do with this. I contacted GM and they said they would'nt help me. Please help as this is a safety issue not being able to see at night. Thanks. This vehicle only has 26000 miles on it. I own several GM vehicles, but this is the only one I have had trouble with.

While engaging slow idle speed turns, my 2014 Silverado will occasionally completely lose all power steering and the engine will shut off completely. I have also had the same issue occur while driving straight and applying the brake or rolling up windows. During these terrifying situations, a message comes across the dash saying one or all of the following "electronic power steering reduced. Drive with caution" "stabilitrack" "trailer brakes". this issue seems to be very sporadic and unpredictable. I looked up possible solutions and had a mechanic fix a poor grounding connection under the dash which they thought could be the cause but did not resolve the problem. Please help!

Cruise control will shut off when using turning signal or rolling up windows. It is very dangerous in busy interstate traffic. Service stabli track and steering assist reduced will come up on display. Power steering is intermittent when turning. Headlights flicker when turning signals are used. Truck will completely shut down for a split second while driving then everything comes back on, complete loss of control when this happens. When knob for headlights is turned from auto to on position the dash and instrument panel gets dim and stabli track and reduced steering assist message comes on. Rear passenger door will not lock using fob, sometimes I will have to hit the unlock button multiple times before door will unlock after lock has been manually pushed down. Passenger seat belt ding is also intermittent, sometimes it will not work at all. My truck just now started having all of these issues at the exact same time. We drove from Texas to Kentucky and back to Texas and these issues all started during this trip. It is not safe for my family, I have always bought Chevrolet and currently own this truck and a Tahoe but they may be my last. All bulbs are good, all fuses and relays are good. Truck now has 66000 miles on it. Battery was replaced around 59000 miles. Seems to be a wiring or ECM (computer) issue to me. I see many complaints similar to mine but yet no recalls have been issued for my VIN number.

Stabilitrak light kicks on and off, steering wheel locks up and shudders when turning at low speeds, headlights and dashlights blink like the trucks about to lose power. Searching online it looks like there is a device bulletin that fixes these issues, but I shouldnt have to pay for a safety and common issue with this truck. Pit5405A is the bulletin number.
