2015 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L 4X4 (48,000 miles). While driving last night I was U-turning at a major intersection when the truck lost all power, then flashed "stabilitrak" on the dash, and jerked the steering wheel out of my hand. Should there have been someone coming the other direction there surly would have a major head on collision. I pulled into a parking lot after re-firing the truck and tried some low speed sharp turns and sure enough the same issue. Flickering power, "stabilitrak" flashing on dash, and steering wheel jerked out of my hand. When I say steering jerked its not as if I just lost power steering, the wheel will actually jerk as if its trying to get back to center on its own. I left the truck over night and went back this morning to have someone follow me home. This is a major safety issue. There is no issued recall for my VIN. I've found hundreds of stories and videos on the internet very similar to mine for this same issue. There are some recalls for other model years that sound like they are aimed at the problem but not for my model/year and everyone I've found that has had the recalls for steering and voltage issues says that the problem continues. Its terrifying thinking that im driving a 6,000lbs mass that can shut off and steer itself out of no where. Ridiculous that this has not been resolved or even acknowledged by GM!

While parked over night in the garage the sabilitrak light was on and service trailer system. Truck wouldn't start so I jump stared he truck. That worked twice though out the day and on my last drive while I was reversing the steering wheel was pulled from my hand and the 'stabilitrak' light came on! finally while parked before my truck engine wouldn't turn over the 'stabilitrak' light came on again and 'service trailer system' I've never used my trailer system. My truck wouldn't even turn over 'crank'. I had to tow my truck home and I'm just happy that the steering wheel wasn't pulled from my hand with my two kids with me in the road!

The stabilitrak notification appears and the steering wheel moves on it's own to the straight position. It has happened while backing up more than once. Also, the stereo screen has blacked out and the vehicles power cut out on my wife while she was driving on the interstate.

Silverado 1500

  • 40,000 miles
The wiring harness for the rear passenger tail lights has corroded. Point of corrosion is the "cup or socket" that the tail light bulb is inserted into. Corrosion failure occurred at 28 months of ownership of the new vehicle. Socket did not have any type of corrosion preventing dielectric grease present as I have typically seen in tail light connections.unfortunately, since the vehicle was at 40,000 miles it was considered out of warranty and all expense for repair of defective manufacturing. Dealership also recommended the replacement of a socket with field soldiering rather than replacement of the entire wire harness which seems like a solution to create more corrosion issues. Corrosion caused the loss of tail lights on the rear passenger side of the vehicle which could have resulted in an accident due to lack of warning/indication from vehicles behind.

One morning when I was driving my 2015 Chevy Silverado, I noticed a message on the dash board screen which read "right rear tail light signal failure. I went to the nearest auto parts store and purchased replacement bulbs and noticed that the bulbs weren't the problem. I also checked the fuses and did not find any blown fuses which again wasn't the problem. However the right rear tail light will turn on if the lights are on but will not blink when the signal light is on or if the brakes are engaged. Later that night I realized that none of the interior lights worked either; weather the light is in the door position or the on position. I'm not really sure what the problem is but with this truck being so new with less than 45000 miles, these problems shouldn't be happening.

I'm having issues with my Chevy Silverado dying out while driving when I'm making turns that will cause the truck to have error messages popping up with regards to the stable trac sensor, the airbag light coming on, the radio going in and out, and the ac going out/coming back on. While backing up the truck is locking up on me, and the steering wheel is jerking out of my hands, which will dye out as well. When I go to start it back up the truck then gives me an error message of roll down the drivers side window that you have to do in order to clear it out. I've currently had this at the Chevy dealership the past 6 months without them being able to fix this numerous times.

While using a spare key to my 2015 Silverado for the entire day, and driving over 70 miles, the "anti-theft" warning light suddenly came on. I continued to drive approx. 10 miles with the light on and while turning off a busy road, across on-coming traffic, the truck completely shut off. No steering, no forward movement, nothing. It virtually went dead! I was able to put the truck in park and try to start it again (thank goodness no traffic coming through at the time). After several attempts it started again and I began to drive around the corner to my home, where it completely shut off again, in front of my driveway. Had it towed, as I was nervous about driving it again. The Chevy dealership service department was unable to conclude what happened. They tested it with the spare key, and still no sign of any trouble. I am reluctant to drive this truck.

So due to known issues with the yolk on the differential, the lag in the transmission shift and engine communication leads to extreme vibration at highway speeds and clunking and jerking while driving around town. So when the transmission shifts there is a delay in the motor recognizing it so it revs up some so when the transmission finally finds the gear it causes it to kick. And since the yolk has play in it, it causes the differential to clunk as the rotation of the driveshaft catches up at a quicker rate. Which leads to more looseness in the yoke and creates a wobble in the driveshaft. And an unsettling sound while driving around.

It began with the headlights/parking lights flickering for a few weeks. Later the truck began to give error messages about stability control, trailer brake control, and others. Finally it violently jerked the steering wheel out of my hands on numerous occasions (truck has electric power steering). This happened at approximately 45 mph in various turns but I am concerned it could happen at highway speeds which would cause a serious crash and/or death. I am afraid to drive this vehicle especially with my family members on board.

All audio stops working. The radio is on and the digital info is changing with the station. But there is no audio.. all the warning sounds and the directional sound are not present. A few times I was able to shut the truck off and restart it and that would fix the issue.. but now that doesn't even work. I do notice that it happens more often when the weather is very cold..

This weekend my truck started acting weird. On Saturday there is a very intermittent zap or click noise that would come through the speakers. Almost like there is a short somewhere. When this happens and I am turning the steering wheel tries to pull back midline for about a second or two then goes back to where it was previously turned to. When I started the truck up on Sunday I had to re-enter the time in the radio but all stations were still programed into it. I noticed when the headlights are on and it makes that noise the headlights flicker a little bit. On the way into work this morning that noise was not there but during a turn on the interstate the steering wheel tried three or four times to return to midline during the turn. It happens so fast that is is finished just about the time you can react to it.
