problem #2

Silverado 1500 LT 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

So I had the same problems at 20,000 last year and what it came down to was both motor mounts were broke and my transmission mount was broke. It took 4 times for them to really go through it. Since replacing them the truck runs fine. No more hard starts where it felt and looked like my engine was going to fly out and while turning it would hesitate or slowing down then rapidly speeding up hesitate or jerking went away. I'm at 48,000 now and it's starting to have the growl when I take off at a dead stop again so now not sure what is going on with it. Oh, also my starter was replaced due to the hard starts. My suggestion is have a vibration test done on your truck that's how they found that my mounts were bad.

Brand new truck, sounds like the engine is wore out. Sometimes there is a small belt squeak, other times it rattles, almost sounds like it is knocking. This is pretty sad for a new truck.
