Silverado 1500 LS 5.3L

Back in September my 2015 Chevy Silverado started making a loud ticking sound and stalling. I drove it straight to the Chevy dealer and was told the number 7 lifter failed. They replaced the AFM lifters on that side .And beside that GM required them to also replace the VLOAM cover also. Which they could not get for months. Although Amazon had plenty of in stock.

So they put it back together and it lasted one week and failed again. Same lifter. But this time they replaced the VLOAM cover also. I was told to install the Range AFM delete module to keep it from going into the AFM mode. And it worked fine but was told that it could happen again. It cost $ 3,400.plus another $230.00 for the device .So I decided to just to remove the system entirely at a cost of $ 5,200.Which included all new lifters and cam and reprogramming the computer and dyno testing. My truck had 67,500 miles on it when it happened and was told that the warranty would not cover it because I was out on the years. Also my gas mileage before all of this was 18.3 mpg and now is 18.2 mpg. GM spent all that money to invent a system that saved that much mpg.
