Seat belt recall for the 2015 Silverado (pretensioner cable)........Landers Chev in Norman, OK inspected and reports they handled the recall issue on 9/20/2016. On 8/2/2021, the pretensioner cable broke off (not under any stress). I called the dealer and also GM, and was told the cable was fixed back in 2016. I advised that a safety repair should last more than 5 years. Both told me that I would need to pay for the repair. Obviously, the original issue was either not fixed at all, or fixed with the same failing cable from the recall. That was not a FIX. There should be another recall.

In the fall of 2020, I received a service bulletin regarding my seatbelt and potential issue with the pre-tensioner cable that could fail. Unable to get into the shop, I continued to drive. One day, I reached over to the passenger seat the the cable snapped leaving me 90 miles from my home without a working seatbelt. When I went to a dealership, they charged me for the repair even though the bulletin indicated it was covered.

GM has recall 14315 for my year make and style of vehicle. They tell me that my VIN is not listed for this recall. My vehicle has the problems listed in this recall. All sounds do not work including the seat beat reminder, the door open reminder and all vehicle sounds from the speakers. GM will not repair it as my VIN does not come up in there system for this recall. How can my VIN be included for this serious safety issue.

The driver side seat belt will not lock when inserted in the seat belt pretensioner while it is stationery it has to be inserted two or more times before it cashes. It has been reported to the dealership on two occasions when it was taken there for maintenance and we were told we had to pay for it to be replaced. So now my husband is driving with a seat belt that will not stay locked in case of an accident.. also I don't have the exact dates but it was reported in 2017.

The drivers side seat belt has separated from the floor. The cable that attaches the lap belt to the base of the seat has failed. The cable has completely separated. This failure happened when I was parked, at home and just attaching the seat belt. No unusual pressure or strain was placed on the seat belt. The truck has never been involved in an accident and the seat belt has never been under any strain. If you discount the lap belt part of the seat belt the shoulder belt still functions.

Took my 2015 Silverado 1500 in for the seat belt recall. When I picked it up it appears that they just cut the rubber dust protector to enlarge the hole. On new unsold trucks they stated that they will replace the entire assembly why not on our new trucks!. I spent over 40K on my truck for this hack job! I think GM should replace all of these with new as this is terrible workmanship!

The vehicle was a total loss. Loss control while avoiding a deer. Slid into ditch. Hit a driveway entrance. Was airborne approx. 15 yards. Nose dived into the ground and went back across the ditch into a field, turned left and went into a wooded area of pines. Left front fender made contact with a pine ( about eight inches thick ) partially up rooting and continued on to wedge between two pines. Air bags failed to deploy and the seat belt tighten up so tight that I had to use a fairly large screw drive, that I had in the center console, to beat the release in order to unlock the seat belt. With the vehicle getting airborne and nose diving into the ground and the impact of the left front fender into the tree, the air bags should have deployed. The vehicle was traveling South East on a highway it was approx. 9:30 pm.

I was stopped at a red light and struck from behind by another smaller vehicle pushing me into a minivan in front of me. On initial impact, the drivers seat was dislodged from the mounting frame. When I hit the minivan in front of me, the airbags did not deploy and my shoulder seat restraint did not engage causing my eye to strike the steering wheel. I have nerve damage as a result of the seat belt not engaging and the airbags not deploying. The vehicle sustained enough damage, including frame damage, that it was considered a total loss. It was 6 weeks old at the time of the incident. I was the only person in the accident who required medical attention. I believe the seat mounting failed, the airbags failed to properly deploy and the shoulder restraint significantly failed. I have pictures indicating the seatbelt fully extended, but did not engage, and will no longer retract. State farm is holding the vehicle pending a possible investigation by NHTSA.
