TRANSMISSION WOULD AT 70K JERK, KICK, AND GO OUT COMPLETELY. HAD THE PLATINUM CHEVROLET WARRANTY 100K COVERAGE. DEALER STATED IT WAS SENDING PUMP AND A LOT OF METAL SHAVINGS IN THE TRANS OIL. THEY FIXED FOR $100 (DEDUCTIBLE) ON EXTENDED WARRANTY. NOW AT 150K AND SAME THING GOING ON, BROUGHT TO DEALER AND NOW THEY WANT $6,300 FOR A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION. SAID TRANSMISSION WAS SHOT AND HAD METAL IN THE TRANS OIL. THEY ARE TELLING ME IT'S NOT COVERED AND NEED NEW TRANSMISSION?

Bought my 2015 Chevy Silverado High Country 1/2 ton with 6.2 420 hp engine and new 8 speed transmission in August, 2014. Has been a pretty reliable vehicle except for the actions of the transmission. At first it was the hesitations I could feel. Asked about it at the dealer at the 1st oil change. They said it was normal for the 8 speed trans.. O.K. I said. Gas mileage was fine, better than 20mpg on the road. Then the cluck began. Somewhere between 1 and 3rd. Dealer said that I should speed up a little when driving and it would disappear. Most of the driving I do is open rural road. Not many stop signs or red lights. Later on after engine lights on, vro replaced and two transmission fluid jobs, and 117000 miles. Heard tinging noises, which did not duplicate at the dealer. Took it home and had a tune up a week later. Drove it out of the dealer for 10 miles. Got to a cul-de-sac and placed truck into reverse. Sounded like I had backed over a garbage can full of nuts and bolts. Truck shuddered and stopped. Was able to place it into park and drive directly to the dealer. Service could not duplicate it, but did hear a " noise." After about a half hour up on a lift, Service presented me with a quote of about $1200.00; cracked flex wheel +. Left it there and just picked it up. What was repaired was loose bolts at the torque converter and flex wheel. Replaced all the bolts. LOOSE BOLTS? My bill was still $1000.00, which included another $200.00 for a new transmission fluid. Truck does, for now, feels better than when I first bought it. As explained to me, the loose bolts happened because Chevy designed the hole the bolt slips thru as larger that the bolt. Anyone else heard this?

On 5/26/2017, the transmission failed on my 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. I had 102,142 miles on it. I took it to a dealership, and they replaced the transmission. I argued that I was only 2000 miles over the 100,000 mile warranty, and that the transmission should have lasted a lot longer than that. I think the warranty should have covered me 100%. I lost of course, and had to pay over $2400 to get my truck back. I have just about had it with GM. I may go to Ford unless some appreciation is shown here, also. Sad Chevrolet owner.

From the time this truck was new I occasionally noticed a hard clunk as the transmission was shifting into a higher gear. This seemed to happen if I let off the accelerator at the same time the trans. was up-shifting. Although this was annoying it didn't happen enough for me to consider it a big problem. Now the truck has 3400 miles. A couple of days ago when I drove the truck I was shocked to find that EVERY TIME I came to a stop, It felt as if someone was running into my back bumper! I made an appointment with the dealership to have it looked at tomorrow 9/13/16. My truck is a 2015 (I bought it new in FEB.2016) Silverado LTZ, 6.2L, with 8 speed automatic. After reading other reviews about these transmission problems I'm afraid my headaches are just beginning.

Called dealership within 1 week of purchase to complain of bad shake/shimmy in transmission. I thought was bad gas. It was sputtering and wouldn't go. Was clunking on changing gears and when going from reverse to drive. Dealership told me it was "Learning how I drive," and to give it 5,000 to 7500 miles to straighten out.
Went in for 5,000 mile oil change and told service person it was still doing it. Was noted in my file. Called several more times to complain. Told to keep driving it and if it was doing it still at 10,000 mile oil change they would look into it. Brought in for 10,000 mile oil change, told service person still doing it, she asked tech and they said there was a bulletin about the problem because other people were having same problem. Got service manager to ride with me so he could feel problems. He did feel the issues I was having.
Dealership kept my truck for about 5 days to do a "double flush" on the transmission. Picked up truck, got home and called to tell them it was still doing it, it was not fixed. Was going out of town over the weekend so told them I would bring it in on Monday morning. Got technician to ride with me and he did. Hooked up computer so he could change gears and see what was going on. He said he saw a couple of things and that he would do his best to fix it.
Had my truck for a week and when I picked it up it seemed to be doing ok, but after a few miles of driving, realized it was still not fixed. Supposedly it wasn't the transmission, but the torque converter.Still shakes, shimmies, shutters, sputters and feels like it won't go. I am now in the process of contacting a lawyer because Alabama has a "Lemon Law" and I definitely have a LEMON! I think it is unfixable. I have spoken with others who have had the same problem.
I think GM has created a bad engine/transmission and needs to recall them all 2015 vehicles with the same engine. I was given a Tahoe to drive as a loaner the second time it was being worked on (Only because I complained that the dealership had given me a little bitty economy car the first time it was being worked on and I paid a lot of money to drive a truck and that's what I wanted to drive.) The Tahoe felt like it was doing the exact same thing.
A friend riding with my husband in the Tahoe asked as soon as they got on the highway, "What's up with vibrating piece of @$&%? (And it was 2016) I think GM has screwed up big time. I want my money back. I' guess this Chevy girl is going to try a Ford! There are lots more details but I'll spare readers. These are the highlights.

This is my company truck which we bought in Houston, TX new this past spring. the truck now has about 14,000 miles on it & several transmission issues have arised & gotten worse. first low gear slippage, slow to change gears from reverse to forward gear, a bad vibration between 48-55 MPH if you downshift to passing mode. Feels like it doesn't shift correcting when turning under a load or the gas pedal doesn't respond with the transmission.
Has been to the local dealer twice, but no luck, going back next week to drive with trans tech & service manager. Also have other issues with the truck to address...

I am so upset....pay $60,000 for a brand new truck and the transmission quits at 25000 miles!!! It's still NEW! Absolutely ridiculous! AND to top it all off GM warranty expired 1 week prior! Now to battle with them to cover the cost. Meanwhile I am out a vehicle.
