2015 SILVERADO clear coat peeling off wheels and not holding air I, m [XXX] if I need this truck in an emergency i, m stranded. Have contacted the dealer and gm both with no success the wheels were $2900. and they wanted me to pay $2300. for a truck that has 50,000 miles on it. it is clearly a safety issue driving down the road when they will not hold air. I filed a complaint in oct 2021 and oct 2024 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

After purchasing vehicle, the truck shakes extremely bad on highway, I notified dealer the same day and they have come to the conclusion after performing a road force test that the wheels are either bent or damaged. The shake is so bad it is hard to hold wheels steady and tire almost feels like it is going to come off. The dealer is stating that they refuse to pay for the cost to fix the safety problem even under warranty. I have driven back and forth an hour each way to dealer over 5 times now and they do not want to fix the situation.

On 3-18-19 at approximately 1600 hours we were traveling North on I 84 near newburgh, NY. I was driving a 2016 Chevrolet 2500 Silverado (45,000 miles) towing a 2019 grand design 5th wheel rv. We were traveling in the travel lane when a pickup pulled alongside honking his horn, the driver was pointing at the camper. I pulled over and discovered the cable holding up my spare tire broke, the spare dropped to the pavement bouncing under the camper. I did a quick repair got off the highway and spent the night in a motel. The next morning I spent 2 hours repairing the camper enough to get it to our residence in Maine. Damage repair bill to the rv was $9100. I brought the truck into quirk Chevrolet bangor me where I purchased it new and their mechanics inspected the tire hoist. They could not explain why the cable frayed and broke. The spare was inspected before our trip South in Feb.and was securely in place with no movement. The cable was in new condition with no rust. I dealt with GM customer service gave them accident reports and all info needed. May 5th GM sends out esis field inspector ron yeager. Mr. Yeager states he has never seen this before on such a new vehicle. Approximately a month later I'm in contact with GM they deny the claim for repairs but have no explanation as to the cause. This spare tire system on GM trucks has long been known for its failures. Usually the cables rust in place and you can't get the tire down when needed. I've always owned GM trucks and usually place the spare in the truck bed due to this poor system. If the rv was not behind my truck that 65lb spare could have done severe damage to the vehicles/persons traveling behind me. Truck shakes severely when driving at speeds above 70 mph on many different road types. This problem started not too long after I got my truck new. After complaining about it the service department said this is "standard 22 inch wheel vibration." After I had about 35000 miles on it the vibration got so bad I couldn't stand to drive on the freeway. Took it back to the dealer and they said the tires were wore out even though there was still plenty of tread. Had another shop look at it and they found one of the wheels was ever so slightly bent. Took it back to the dealer to confirm. They sold me a new wheel, the problem didn't go away or change in any way. I bought new tires as they recommended, problem was still there but not so severe until after driving a few thousand miles. The more miles I put on the tires the worse the vibration gets. Took it back into the dealer again recently, they keep telling me it's standard vibration for 22 inch wheels. I know this is bogus because I know a few people with the exact same wheels and tires that don't have the shaking problem, they can drive as fast as they want and it's smooth. Everybody that rides with me asks what is wrong with my truck. How can I convince the dealer that there is an actual problem?

At slow speed, while maneuvering into a tight parking spot, brakes antilock braking kicked in and made the brake pedal very stiff and preventing application of the brakes causing the truck to roll forward almost hitting the parked car before coming to a stop. This happened twice in the same day. This is a well known and well documented issue related to the design of the ABS sensor and braking system on the Chevy models and recalls from about 20 years ago. This truck is a mn vehicle.

Within 6 weeks I had to replace 3 tires on my truck. I still had 4/32 of were left on these tires that only had approximately 27000 miles on them. I ended up buying a forth tires and had the tires balanced for another hundred dollars.I have all the receipts and I am looking for compensation for inferior tires that were on the truck when I bought it. Chevrolet quality was not there on my tires. This happened over a 6 week period starting 10/20/2017 to 10/28/2017.

When taking a long, rather sharp turn on the highway, the vehicle was resisting against the turn making it difficult to maneuver the vehicle. At the same time, the brakes began to initiate when the pedal was stepped, but immediately became very hard and could barely slow or stop the vehicle. Almost hit the vehicle in front due to the delay and difficulty in braking.

Since I bought the truck new I have been experiencing vibration in steering and cab of truck. Been in the dealer 5 times for this problem. Repairs included 14 set of tires, balance drive shaft, replaced ring and pinion in differential, installed hydraulic bushings in steering rack. The truck still vibrates. This is a concern in safety if you dont know what the problem is how can you say its not a safety issue. Very displeased with General Motors. There is alot of complaints about this issue and should be looked at more carefully

At highway speeds between 58 and 74 mph, there is a vibration that shakes the truck. My first trip to the dealership, they said 3 of the 4 tires needed to be replace, which was covered under warranty. The truck had approximately 3500 miles, when I took it the first time. The problem was stable for a few thousand miles, and then started to get bad, I called and scheduled an appointment, and the truck has been at the dealership for over a week now, and they have replace the one tire that wasn't orginally replaced. They also said they are looking at the exhaust system.

The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado high country comes standard with a Goodyear Eagle ls-2, size: P275/55R20. The wet and dry traction of this model of Goodyear tire is poor at best. On wet road surfaces, the tires break traction on corners and under light acceleration. Snow traction is non-existent even though they are mud and snow rated. These tires are a safety hazard.

I have the special rally edition of this truck in which comes with 22" black aluminum rims. After 33K miles and 18 months of ownership with only on road driving. 3 of the 4 low profile rims had to be replaced due to significant cracking. At first the symptom was vibration at highway speed. Then my right front passenger tire would not hold a bead to the rim. During the inspection of the right front the crack was noted and then all four tires were check. This lead to the replacement of 3 out of 4. I'm still waiting for Chevy to clarify if this will be a warranty replacement. All maintenance on the vehicle was done by a authorized dealer.

While in motion, I've noticed a shaking coming from the rear end of my 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 double cab. My truck sits on factory 20 inch rims. I've had the wheels balanced when I replaced the tires. Shaking continues. Shaking more noticeable after reaching speeds of 60 M.P.H. and above. I've been told by the service manager of the dealer I purchased the truck from that it is a known issue but there is no fix or solution. The shaking first started after the truck reached 10,000 miles and has not gotten any better in the past 5,500 miles. The problem is persisting and possibly getting worse.

  • 12,000 miles
Truck began to have the Chevy shakes about the 12K mile point and has increasingly gotten worse the more mileage the truck gains ( currently 14K miles) I have called and talked to technicians about this and they ensured me that its normal. I've owned several trucks and I have never not been able to go over speeds of 55 without having terrible shakes and wobbles in my truck. Chevrolet needs to address this properly and fix the issue or buy back the trucks that are affected by this issue, when a person spends 50K + on a vehicle this should be the last thing the should have to worry about is feeling safe in their vehicle. I will never buy another Chevrolet product again due to not only this but a number of other issues I have with the truck including hard shifting and extreme lack of power.

Silverado 1500

  • 4,000 miles
My 2015 Silverado 1500 is equipped with Goodyear Wrangler ls-2 tires, in size 265/65R18. When driving in wet weather, taking a mild right or left hand turn can result in complete loss of traction, resulting in the truck spinning 90 to 180 degrees. This happens at low speeds - you do not have to be driving at a speed that most people would deem as unsafe. In wet weather the tires act as though you are driving on ice, very little wet weather traction, resulting in the possibility of loss of control. I have experienced this at least 6 times in the last 3 months, and have little confidence in these tires. I feel they are a safety hazard, and I am concerned that I could be involved in an accident as a result of the lack of wet weather traction with these tires.
