Only way I found out that fuel pump wasn-??t working was due to transmission problems with sensor and having to get the whole harness replace as well as the Moyer I had to get the motor replaced as well engine light kept coming out and truck felt lost of power and would waste gas a lot, safety wise I was afraid it-??d break down in the middle of road with my family trucks been having problems since I-??ve got it with motor and transmission and fuel pump problems, yes problems have been confirmed with dealers but dealers just say they fixed it but continued to have problems so I took it to certified shop and having them fix the fuel pump and transmission problem, as of I know the truck has been inspected by warranty company, yes they-??re were warnings like engine lights ABS lights.

The reduced power indicator comes on. The code for this has been p2138 and it keeps saying it-??s the pedal and I-??ve replaced it twice and it seems to still come out. Looking over the internet it seems that this case has been experienced by so many people. GM needs to take responsibility and fix this problem with not only my vehicle but future ones as well. After this experience I-??m really not sure I would want to continue purchasing GMs anymore. You need to have a recall on this issue and have it fixed.

So on a cold start, my pickup was running extremely ruff. I shut it off and restarted it. Mind you the engine light is on now it seems to run better. So I go to work and encounter the same problem at the end of the day. I have it hooked up to the diagnostics machine and get P050D code as well as one more code (don't remember that one). This is a malfunction with the fuel injectors and the fuel supply. To much or to little can happen when ever. My mechanic tells me GM has a special service bulletins on this very problem. (N182198000). This is only for 13 states and certain VIN#s. So I call the dealership and they tell me that some 350,000 vehicles have been recalled. They gave them 10 years or 150,000 miles. Now everyone else that encounters the same safety issues to bad sorry for your luck, not their problem is what I was told. This is for 2016 and 2017 5.3 and 6.2 engines. To top if off when I talked with the GM representative for my area she advised me to report it here. Not to concerned about the product that they sold. Mind you not previous recalls where for seatbelts but only the front seats"?" I still believe they should of replaced the rear seatbelts. They don't retract as they should and I'm struggling to find my ones

smelling fuel in cab, found fuel line spraying fuel across bottom of truck, had it towed to dealer who replaced the line, which was cracked at the fitting closest to the fuel pump. Molded line cracked from age or vibration. 107k miles on truck. fuel spray could ignite imperiling the occupants. no warning lamps, engine was still getting fuel and ran fine. Concern for proximity to exhaust and catalytic converter as an ignition point.

The fuel filler injection port retaining clip became overly worn down & broke with minimal use, thus not holding the fuel spout in its proper place causing it to malfunction. No warning lights. Fuel spout is very loose & could come loose & cause disasters from: personnel injury/death, inhalation from toxic fumes, environmental disasters, etc. The fuel tank was completely replaced in 2016 right after purchase.

RPM increases between 4 and 5.5K but unable to acceleration after descension from hill while driving on I-17. It appears my transmission/gears slip following hill descents. On 6 occasions, while driving to and from moab, Utah on Aug 9-10, the engine revs up to 4.5 - 5.5K at the bottom of the hill/decline. I could not get out of the gear or pick up speed upon acceleration. Braking did not stop the revs. I just kept my foot off the brake and accelerator until the gear eventually kicked in. Otherwise the truck ride and drive is amazing and no other problem except getting annoying gear clunks now and then, every since I purchased it. Back in 2017 midway Chevy said that is not a problem. Well, I drove my truck for the first time yesterday since the incident. The problem reoccurred while descending a very small hill in anthem. This time span was much shorter. I want to mention that I have driven my truck up I-17 from anthem, AZ to flagstaff and beyond at least 20 times in the last 4 years and never experienced this. I do not have a floor mat or anything on the driver side floor of the truck. There are no signs of trans fluid leaking (on garage floor etc.), no way to check my trans fluid level. No messages showed up in the dic (driver info ctr), or on the dashboard instrument cluster (message center) (I.e.: transmission, speed, service brake assist, etc.), no diagnostic warning and the August monthly diagnostic report did not reflect any problems. I don't think any features were accidentally turned on while driving (I.e.: tow/haul, hdc, grade braking etc.). the problem continued after turning truck off and restarting, which should disengage most features. I am a 70 year old woman and haven;T driven the truck hard or never hauled anything. I am 2K miles out of warranty. Will never pay 53K for a vehicle with such a lousy drive-train warranty.

My truck has a bad gas smell when entering or exiting the truck. I looked underneath it and saw a small gas leak coming from the top inside of the tank. The truck only has 26000 miles on it, and is just out of warranty. Please inform me if you know of other reports of gas leaking on these Chevy trucks

While traveling eastbound on interstate 10 from van horn to fort stockton at approximately 85 mph with a semi parallel on the right hand lane and an SUV directly behind me no more than 3 car lengths away, the check engine light activated and all power was lost. When the engine shutdown luckily the SUV behind me was able to slow down after I immediately activated my emergency flashers and I was able to safely, after almost causing an accident, move over to the right hand shoulder/grass area. After having truck towed to the nearest Chevy/GM dealership in pecos tx, the diagnosis was a faulty fuel pump estimated cost over $800. This is a serious safety issue when traveling on the highway and the fuel pump goes out and should be looked at by NHTSA.

Silverado 1500 8-cyl

  • 86,000 miles
While driving down the highway and traveling on an exit ramp about halfway through, my vehicle momentarily "shuddered" or "lost power" followed by the check engine light flashing. This could have resulted in quite a serious accident, however I was able to retain control of the vehicle and pull over immediately. When I pulled over, I connected my code scanning tool and pulled a P0300 code from the vehicle, meaning it had multiple/random misfires. This coincides with the "shudder". upon taking the vehicle to the dealership to get a diagnostic, the service writer informed me they have had quite a few vehicles with the same engine come in for misfire issues, usually resulting in fuel injectors being replaced or the fuel pump. Searching online, it seems to be a fairly consistent issue. Multiple forums have been dedicated to it, along with many youtube videos describing it and showing how to replace the injectors or fuel pump. As this seems like a widespread issue, I would like to request the NHTSA look into the matter and make a determination. I would hate for a similar situation to happen to someone and they are not able to retain control of the vehicle.

Silverado 1500

  • 32,000 miles
Warranty ended in July 2019. Check engine light came on in Nov 2019 with a P050D code. Vehicle only has 32,0000 miles. Took it to dealership (autonation Chevrolet in gilbert, AZ) and was told two fuel injectors were the cause and needed replaced. The dealership said one of the injector fuel rods and gasket was installed backwards at the factory. I pushed for GM to pay for the repair since no previous injector work had been done. The exception was cleaning the injectors as part of routine maintenance, which occurred in Aug 2019 and was completed at dealership. GM agreed to pay half the cost of repair. However, I wholeheartedly believe they should've paid the entire cost since this was caused by a factory defect. I believe this should be looked into because if my injectors were installed incorrectly at the factory, chances are other vehicles have them installed incorrectly as well.

My complaint is vibration or a shake. It's mostly occurs or when I experience it is when I'm at a idle. I took it in to the dealer and was told it was normal. I spoke with several mechanics and a few mentioned that it could be the oil pressure sensor filter that needs to be replaced but since their is not a light popping up for a code, they can't do anything about it. I've never felt this in other Chevy or GMC trucks that I have driven. Why is Chevrolet ignoring this issue. To just tell an owner of a Chevy truck, oh it's the "Chevy shake" and brush it off is not ok.

Vehicle started "cold" in home owner's driveway. Pool of fluid observed on ground after moving vehicle 50'. vehicle put into park, I exited vehicle, smelled gasoline and physically observed gasoline spraying out @ system fuel pressure from a ruptured gas line in mid section of undercarriage. Gasoline was also spraying directly onto muffler. Vehicle shut off immediately. Turned key on without starting vehicle and gasoline again started spraying underside of vehicle. Fire dept. Notified and responded to incident. No vehicle fire resulted, however vehicle was started "cold". I believe results would have been catastrophic had this happened with vehicle at full operating temp. Dealership stated my gas line rupture was first they had seen on a newer vehicle and it was a composite gas line. It took a week to get replacement part for repair to be made. I have requested to see this gas line or given a picture by dealership. Repair covered under warranty. This issue poses a serious fire/safety problem to occupants in and around vehicle and needs immediate attention to determine if this type of gasoline line is defective and # of vehicles possibly effected.
