Initially this started when Stabili-Track activated getting onto Interstate. Lite went off after about 1/2 mile, so I got to my destination, shut the truck off, and when I went to restart, there was NOTHING (no interior lights, no dash lights, of course no starting). What made matters worse, I was in the middle of the Arizona desert, miles from anything. I disconnected the negative post, waited 30 seconds and it started. I took it into the dealer, and they just said, no light, don't waste your money.
Today I got in the truck and there was NOTHING, same as above. I went straight to the battery and a check showed 12.37v - no problem. BUT - when I grabbed the Negative Battery cable, it was extremely HOT both in the wire sheath and the end connector was too hot to grab. I disconnected the negative post and a check revealed 1.35v from negative cable to negative post - expected draw (clock, memory etc.). I disconnected the Positive cable, held the two ends together for approx 30+ seconds and reattached. Everything is operating normal now, but I'm going to have to carry a 10mm socked/rachet w/ 6inch extension and a flathead screwdriver. just in case I get stranded AGAIN.
Unfortunately, in both instances, I was (1). in the middle of the desert and (2). happened on a Saturday, when the Dealer doesn't run their Service Dept, except Oil Changes.

To start with my key fob would not unlock the tail gate, this happened twice, and the unlock button in the cab would also not unlock the tail gate. After several attempts the tail gate did unlock. this happened again later and then at this time the touch screen, including my heater controls, radio and blue tooth went dark. Took it to the dealer and they said to keep driving it that it would come back on, which it did... I drove it home and the next day the dash showed reduced power with a black screen and shut down. It would not start again so I disconnected the battery, and when I did there was a heavy spark at the terminals, showing that there was a power draw and there was nothing on in the truck, doors were closed and key was out of the ignition.
The next morning I called for a tow truck to take it to the dealer and the driver connected the battery and the truck started and he could move it, but within less that 2 minutes the dash recorded a loss of power and shut down and would not start again. Tow company delivered truck to dealer, dropped it off after hours. The dealer started the truck to move it into shop, and again it died and wouldn't start. Dealer did a trouble shoot on it and replaced the cam sensor, which didn't fix the problem, They then dropped the fuel tank to check connections and decided that the ECM was defective which they replaced and that didn't fix the problem. They called in a GM engineer but he couldn't come up with a suggestion for repair. The GM rep suggested that they remove the cab to look for possible shorts, bad connections or bad grounds. I don't believe they check the fuse panels or connections, at least the last time I talked with them they were still looking elsewhere. At this time the truck is still in their shop and not running.
