  • 126,000 miles
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brakes made grinding noises due to the brake pads rubbing on the rotors. The contact added oil to the brake pads; however, the failure recurred. The contact replaced five hubs, two rotors, four calipers, and two brake lines. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to Jim Butler Linn Chevrolet Service (317 Main St, Linn, MO 65051) where it was diagnosed that the transmission was faulty, and the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to replace the faulty parts with OEM parts. The failure mileage was approximately 126,000. The consumer had an accident due to brakes locking up and not able to get the transmission fixed.
