Today (Oct 14 2022), my Silverado 1500 with about 122,000 km on it had the power steering fail. It was working fine 2 minutes earlier as I came back from a coffee run. I parked the truck, turned it off about 2 minutes and when I tried to start it, it started but sounded rough. I put it in drive give it a bit of gas but it would not move and the power steering was stiff - I could not turn it. I tried to back up and it would not move either. There goes my confidence in the truck to get me home every time I go out with it. I turn it off parked it waited about 10 minutes and I tried the remote start to see if it worked and when tried everything seem to be working. Is a failing battery, or the charging system or may a working harness getting corroded?
Not sure what caused the problem but I would like to know so I can avoid a highway problem with complete failure again...
