I've brought my vehicle in to a GM certified Chevrolet dealership to get it's oil changed and along with that they informed me of completing a safety recall pertaining to it's brakes. The next day after the recall had been done my brakes had gone soft and my dash lit up with several different messages. Service ESC, service trailer brake system, and brake system failure 62 mph top speed. I decided to bring it in again and had the recall done once more. This time it lasted a few days until my brakes had gone out once more with the same messages. It's already been a safety risk as the second time it had happened I couldn't stop and went through a 4 way intersection nearly missing oncoming traffic. My vehicle has been at the dealership since December 26, 2019. I've been informed that there "is no known fix per GM" now I'm in a loaner vehicle while paying for a truck that can't be driven.

When driving the vehicle in an ice storm the brake function went completely. The brake pedal would not engage. I had to put truck into low. Almost caused a severe accident given the weather and the loss of any brake function. I was in a city pulling forward.

As I left to head to the store this evening I immediately had 3 codes come up on my dash after I turned the ignition on. (brake system failure. 62mph top speed. Service trailer brake system. Service ESC). I thought it was a glitch so I backed down my driveway with resistance of the brakes. I had it in 4X4 due to snow so I assumed its just feeling rough from that. I proceeded to drive down the street I live on to a major road and went straight into cross traffic because the truck would not stop. I nearly died from a snow plow coming. I pumped the brakes once I didn't feel them working and it felt like I was pushing on a cement block. This is unacceptable as I have come close to dying in a recalled cobalt before bow I have to worry about this truck since theres no active recall-just like the cobalt!!! I fear for my life and my autistic child's life as this is my only means of transportation to our doctors. The vehicle is parked and I contacted my friend who works in service to also doccument with him when it occurred.

I had a recall performed at a dealership and they confirmed the vehicle is running properly. I noticed that the next day my lane keep assist was turned off and not functioning. Later that same day when approaching a stop sign, I noticed that 4 warning messages appeared on my dash. The first said power steering assist disable, the next service ESC, the next trailer brake disabled, the next vehicle limited to 62mph.

So, I took it in 12/17/19 for oil change, etc. There was 3 recalls and picked the truck up 12/18/19. 12/19/19 at 6 pm the truck wouldn't stop! I took it on 12/19/19 and they looked into it. They reinstalled the software, and drove it longer to check it out. I picked it up yesterday, after being told it's good to go. Well, it happened again this morning!

On 12/26/2019 at 05:40 am, I got in my truck (2019 Silverado lt Allstar) and started the engine. I immediately received multiple warning messages on my dash panel. They were "service ESC", "brake system failure" "steering assist reduced" and to drive no faster than 62 mph. Prior to parking the night before on 12/25/2019 I had never had any problems whatsoever. On 12/26/2019 I was heading to work but found quickly that the brake pedel went all the way to the floor with very limited or basically no braking. The steering became very difficult with no apparent power assist.

I took it Tuesday 12/17/19 in for an oil change at 4K miles to get under 7K service. For my 2019 high country. As I was notified I was due for an oil change. I looked on onstar. Saw there was a recall and figured they could two things at once. Come to find out there were three recalls. Which I get it, things happen. I get it home Tuesday night no issues. Thursday 12/19/19 around 6 pm, as I was backing out of my driveway and it wouldn't stop. I had to stand on the brakes. I am 6'2' and 300 lbs. I was able to get the vehicle in drive and again, the vehicle was not easily stopping. I had numerous dashboard displays. I took pictures of the displayed items. I called rick hendrick Chevrolet at 6:53 pm on 12/19/19 and since I live close dropped it off at the dealer, as I was headed out of town Sunday and wanted this fixed. So.... here comes the issue besides it not stopping that I am even more fired up about! the service guy, called me Friday morning to say they can't find anything wrong. Now, with the display saying service ESC, trailer brake system, and brake system failure not to go above 62 mph, I am pretty sure it triggered an code and would be in code history. I told him I had pictures of the dash display and that they needed to check the code history. He told me at one point it was the vacuum, but then told me that the vacuum was an issue with last years model. And that he was having his master technician look at it. Around 4 pm on Friday, with a family trip coming up Sunday 12/22/19 and not hearing anything I called a few times to find out if I needed to rent a car or they could get me a loaner. I got a call around 5:13 pm on 12/19/19 telling me it's ready and they reinstalled the software and the master technician drove it. Said he is comfortable. I was scared then and scared now to put them back in that vehicle.

While backing out of a parking space my brakes felt soft and seemed unresponsive. Put truck in drive and started moving forward and when I tried to stop the brake pedal went to the floor with about 5-10% braking power. Truck barely stopped before entering moving cross traffic. Truck went into limp mode displaying brake system failure speed limited to 62 mph. Limped truck to dealership approximately 2 miles. Every time I had to stop I had to pump the brakes twice and on the second time the brake pedal was depressed I would gain approximately 50% braking power. Truck has already had all recalls performed and specifically, the recalls related to "fixing" this exact issue. Dealer put the truck on the computer and explained only a check engine light had been activated due to the brake system but couldn't say what happened. Dealer attempted to have me drive the truck home, 40 miles on the freeway, and bring back in 3 days for an appointment. Feeling this was an unsafe option I requested they keep the truck until it could be thoroughly investigated and to put me in a loaner or provide transportation which they did.

Started vehicle up from a parking lot, proceeded to intersection. Went to hit my brakes for the red light. And warning lights started flashing. I had about 10% of brakes at this point. Could not stop for red light, but was able to steer to the right, parallel with the oncoming traffic to avoid a serious collision. The truck is setting at the dealership now. And I'm being told that parts are back ordered.

Weird brake and steering feel while driving. Speed did not exceed 35 mph in neighborhood driving. Dic read: Brake system failure max speed 62 mph service ESC trailer brake system failure. Brake pedal was hard to push and unresponsive at times. Felt like we were dragging the back end at times. Steering was inconsistent. Parking brake was off. Stopped and started 3 times, reset the vehicle a few times. Prior to a big downhill, the last restart cleared the issue and the brake pedal went to the floor. Drove home and parked. To be honest, felt unsafe to drive especially with my son and wife in the car. Luckily we only had a short 3 miles home. Check engine light on onstar report received in email

Had a short 5 mile drive to a restaurant. The truck sat for a few hours. Auto started the truck to warm. After 5-7 minutes I pressed the brake and turned on the truck. It instantly threw 3 codes. Brake system failure. Service trailer brake system. Service ESC. Turned the truck off then back on. No change same codes. Proceeded to get the truck back home when I noticed I had almost no brakes. Next morning after starting the truck I didn't have any code messages but did have service engine light. Truck drove and stopped as it normally did.

While reversing on our driveway the truck lost about 90% of its ability to brake. The pedals were pressed hard and all the way down until it slowly came to a stop. We turned off the truck and started it again and the problem continued. Took it immediately to the dealership, they were very dismissive saying nothing was wrong with the truck. At the dealership we drove it again and the brakes were working normally. Left the truck at the dealership even though they didn't want to check it. The truck also had two recalls that needed to be addressed. According to the documentation they checked the brakes and found nothing wrong. My major concern is what if this happens again on a busy highway or street? my families safety is nothing to be dismissive about.

All four wheels lock up, seems to happen after idling for a few minutes, had towed to dealer ship on 12/18/19, picked up on 12/19/20 advised breaking system only needed reprogrammed. Drove for about 40 miles it was fine, stop for a few minutes truck running in park, then drove about 1-1/2 mile, as I entered a major intersection all four wheels locked up, nearly cause a major accident, the truck wheels locked up 3 additional times while try to off the main road.....again had towed to dealership, waiting for update. This is an extremely dangerous life threatening problem

At about 45 mph on a city street, I tried to apply the brakes but the pedal fell completely to the floor and about 98% of the braking ability was gone. I was able to ride the truck up onto the shoulder to slow down and stop. After restarting the vehicle, it seemed that the brakes were working again so I tried to make it to the dealership (about 1.5 miles away). Accelerating back up to speed was very jumpy - almost as if the engine was being starved. After getting up to about 35 mph, the brakes engaged intermittently without me touching the brake pedal. I pulled back over and had the vehicle towed to the rest of the way to the dealership. While stopped and engine idling, I observed a very noticeable knock coming from the engine. The dealership diagnosed the problem and is replacing the master brake cylinder and lifters in the engine. This failure was extremely dangerous and I was lucky that it did not cause an accident.

When I back up the back up camera flashes out, is blurry, and it seems as if when I tap the brakes it makes the screen flash out causing a serious hazard. I've contacted GM they are at this point I assume ignoring me and refuse to help with this issue on my brand new truck. Now today my break monitor system flashes up red saying service system not my breaks or pads but something with the break system is apparently wrong now.

While backing up in a parking lot, lost all braking ability even though pedal was depressed several times. Vehicle finally stopped on its own after multiple warning lights including engine one came on and messages referring to break system failure - 62 mph maximum speed and service trailer break system. Onstar also emailed stating issue with anti-lock brakes. Vehicles was towed to dealership and diagnosis shows nothing! some updates were made to software that was all. Contacted GM and they opened a case.
