bad lifters and cam shaft bad lifters and cam shaft

I bought this truck for my son with only 39,000 miles on it. He was headed to the gym when he called me, and something was seriously wrong with the truck. He stated that when he came to a stop the engine felt like it was slamming hard when he stopped. I told him to pull into a parking lot, and I would be right there. I got to where he was at and got in the truck to see what he was talking about. OMG! he was right something was seriously wrong. So, I called a tow truck and had it towed to the dealership. The dealership called to say a lifter went bad. I said at only 68,000 miles! The service department stated they have been having issues with this in other trucks.

However, his truck was not going to be covered because it was a 2019 and the recalls for this truck started at 2020. Are you flipping kidding me! You stated they know there is a problem with this happening to 2020 and up then it must be a 2019 problem as well. The service department said they had another truck same exact to ours and it was in for the same reason. The service guy even showed the truck; it was a 2019 RTS model with the exact same problem. WAKE UP GMC/CHEVROLET THE SAME PROBLEM IS IN THE 2019 AS WELL. This should not be costing me for a problem you know you are having. MAKE IT RIGHT!!!! FOR ALL YOU CUSTOMERS!

Silverado 1500 LT 5.3

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,000 miles

Started throwing codes for "Service Parking Brake" and "Service ESC" and engine light cam on. Started running rough and making popping noises. Took to dealership immediately, They said lifters and camshaft had to be replaced. $8000 to fix. Will never buy another one. Also has the typical transmission issues that are common.
