The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the warning message "low oil turn off vehicle" had displayed. The vehicle was parked and upon inspection it was discovered that no engine oil was present on the engine oil dipstick and there was an oil leak underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine oil cooler line crimp had detached. The vehicle was repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000

Dashboard and display screen doesn't shut off when key had been removed from the ignition. Constant freezing, call dropping and sound boost at random moments. Ticking sound when barely touching the gas. Hard shifts. Bluetooth connects and disconnects constantly. If GM released a defective vehicle, in which they are aware of the problems should be fixed. Not only for me but for the tons of thousands filing known major problems as well.

Thousands of these vehicles have Engine Lifter failure problems at early mileage and if your vehicle is out of warranty you have to pay. These are vehicles with the AFM 5.3 and many are failing. This is a well known problem and should be recalled soon. If your engine fails on the highway it can be extremely dangerous.

Silverado 1500

The transmission will sometimes hesitate/lag for a few seconds when shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear. This seems to occur only cold starts where the vehicle has sat for a long period, such as overnight. On the most recent occurrence, I was stopped at a stop sign on my road and began to turn left (northbound) on to the busy highway. While turning from the stop sign on to the highway, the vehicle vehicle hesitated mid-shift and I lost acceleration. After a few seconds, a loud clunk was then heard, the truck jerked - throwing me forward, and acceleration was restored. This delay resulted in a near-miss collision as there was an approaching vehicle headed southbound and I was stuck in their lane since my vehicle was not accelerating. Issue reported to Heartland Chevrolet (501 Rte 291, Liberty, MO 64068) to document and investigate the issue. Vehicle taken to dealer next day. After 3 days of service, the dealer service team could not reproduce the issue and escalated to regional GM engineer (Service Manager called him directly.). Engineer stated that hesitation is normal. Still an on-going issue; work around has been to let the vehicle idle longer before driving on a cold start. Sometimes you can "feel" the hesitation and know when to let off the gas pedal few a few seconds until the shift in to 2nd to avoid the vehicle throwing you forward, being able to have better "control" of the hesitation issue.

The "service brake system" and "service ESC" lights came on, along with the service engine light and rough idle, resisted roll (slight brake applied, perhaps?) and per the dealer, no code was stored and there is no fix. Bulletin pit5728B says different and not to drive the vehicle until fixed. I am refusing to accept my vehicle back until fixed as of 27 Apr 2021. A current recall for this issue stands in cananda and Alaska. The eoc engine cooling lines leak oil. The eoc clamp and/or assembly loosens causing a sever oil leak. More common in colder climate areas. Leak accrues at all times, when running or not.

While driving to school which is approx 70 miles from my house, I was approx 10 miles from my end location and had been driving for 1 hour and 15 minutes without issues. I was driving on I-70 at 75 mph when the truck completely shut down. The engine shut off, brakes went out, steering locked, all electrical shut off. The truck was dead for approx 4 seconds when it kicked back on on its own. The truck continued down the road like nothing had happened. The truck did the same thing about 3 miles after the first time the truck died. There were no more incidents during that trip. Later that same day I was pulling into kroger parking lot turning into a parking spot at about 5 mph when the truck completely shut down again. The truck was dead for approx 3-5 seconds each time with completely shutdown before completely restarting on its own and continuing like nothing happened.

Oil cooler lines failed at the crimp of the rubber to metal line. At 43,000 mi, not covered under warranty. Purchased lines and had them replaced. Found oil spots on the driveway and investigated. Because of the others misfortune and losing engines due to this, I did not start the vehicle.

I was driving up a hill at approx. 5 miles an hour, with coworker in vehicle. The transmission could not find a gear and the vehicle lost momentum and rolled backwards down the hill. I had to slam on my breaks before I hit another vehicle. We were at kaiser hospital assisting with the cooling towers of the hospital. I had to turn the vehicle off and then on, and slow make my way to the parking area. My coworker was extremely worried and felt the vehicle was unsafe, as did I. this problem has happened several times.

  • 16,000 miles
While driving to work at 75mph my oil pressure went to 0 on the gauge and the instrumentation panel lit up saying 'no oil pressure turn off vehicle' I pulled over in a timely manner. I exited the truck to find oil leaking from multiple areas under the truck. I had my truck towed to terry marxen dealership in flagstaff AZ and the advisor told me it was a oil cooler line that had failed. Currently there is an open recall #N192220080 for this in Canada and the state of Alaska only but it seems other vehicles are being affected here in the lower 48. This seems to be a safety issue as the engine can stall or lock up at various speeds causing uncertainties.

After noticing oil leaking from my vehicle, when parked, I researched on the internet for potential problems. I inspected the underside of the truck. Oil was covering the skid plate, all the way to the back of the transmission pan. When I placed the truck on ramps the oil that had pooled on the skid plate ran out. These trucks have a known issue of leaking or rupturing oil cooler lines. General Motors has chosen to ignore the problem. The NHTSA has issued a recall for vehicles only in Alaska and Canada, when the problem occurs everywhere. Here is the recall id: N192220080 engine oil cooler lines detaching from crimp ' Canada and state of Alaska only copyright 2019 General Motors. All rights reserved. Page 1 of 3 release date: December 2019 revision: 00 here are the ids of complaints that match the description of the problem on the NHTSA website: NHTSA id number: 11343141 NHTSA id number: 11298622 NHTSA id number: 11297163 also, a simple internet search revealed dozens of cases. I to determine the problem without ever removing the skid plate or looking under the vehicle.
