About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
I am concerned of the blind spot created by the size of the right and left support structures on either end of windshield. They also have a grab handle attached to them increasing the size. When at a stop and looking for cross traffic they create a blind spot of approaching vehicles. I believe this was why I thought no traffic was approaching when i entered roadway and then saw a vehicle approaching from the left. I immediately came to a stop and avoided an accident luckily.

Electrical acutated tailgate will not come down. The truck came with a soft bed cover that locks. If my child was to hide in the bed somehow it would pose an immediate risk to life and health as the tailgate will not come down and does not have any type of manual override. The interior controls do not work to lower the tailgate, the key fob controls do not work to lower the tailgate.

The frame of the truck is excessively rusty and the manufacture undercoating has flaked off. All components of the frame and underbody have significant rust for the age of the vehicle. This was just addressed with the dealership who stated there was no warranty to cover it. There has been no service done to the frame and all preventative maintenance and service checks have been done at the dealership on time. It was just recently noticed to be so rusty. This poses a problem with the safety of the frame of the vehicle which can lead to cracks, broken welds, holes, etc.

The passenger door is attached properly, when the truck reach 70 mph or higher and little cross wind, there is really loud noise like the brakes sticking. I was afraid the door might flew off while I'm driving and I have infant in the back. I took the truck in to the dealership where I purchased and the problem was never fixed. when I took the truck back the 2nd time, the dealership told me to take my truck to GM dealership. I took the truck to the GM dealership hour later my truck was ready, apparently this problem happened to another vehicle. Now the noise is worst and it's on both side when I'm driving 70mph or higher with cross wind. I took the truck back to the dealership and now I'm waiting on parts to arrive 2 weeks later no call back. It's been one year 6 months with less than 19000 miles, afraid the doors might pop off and still the problem is not fixed.

Vehicle bought new from dealer Dec 2020. I decided to replace some lights so, I lowered the spare tire for better access while replacing a light bulb. I noticed everywhere the spare tire and the frame cross members come into contact the paint has rubbed away and rust has begun to form. Also, the sidewall of the spare tire has corresponding spots where the rubber has worn away. This leads me to have concerns as to the spare tire's availability in the event of a flat.

Frame paint peeling off within 6 months. Drivers and passenger side frame above rear axles. Multiple complaints documented on Chevy forums. Paint falls of with simple wash exposing bare metal frame which will lead to premature rust and corrosion

On the hood of truck is a chrome "6.2L" emblem. On sunny days and driving West the sun reflects very brightly off of the emblem and into the drivers eyes. Even with sunglasses the reflection is very bright and penetrating.
