Driving at the speed limit 65-70 miles ph my truck started to slow in speed the tire sensor came on then the truck began to smoke and the brakes locked up at a high speed, lucky for me there was no one behind me. I was able to limp to a safe spot and park the truck would not MOVE at all..After an hour I tried to move it again it would not go into drive. Had to tow it to the dealership..$$$$ later they say well we can't recreate the problem so it's drivable. I drive 2 blocks and it stops in traffic almost causing a collision. Had it towed home and for 3 moths now it has sat while I have to continue paying payments on a NON running 2020 with only 102 thousand miles on it this is CRIMINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was told possible $62k to repair but no guarantee it would stay fixed!!!!!!!!!! Criminal and should not be on me I am paying still. But if something is not done I will let it get repo..I am [XXX] old this was to be my last newer vehicle I have had to borrow money again and bought an older 03 silverado that is running great. On September 21, 2024 my Chevy 1500 series truck in the year was 2020. It was made caught on fire white driving it. We were returning from a trip pulling a trailer from Kentucky to Mansfield Ohio when we were on the highway. The transmission light/panel came across and said transmission need to engine idle. I drove it about 3 miles and pulled off on an exit at a gas station and did what it said after proximately 10 minutes. The message went off and cleared. we resume going home on our trip and we are 14 miles on the highway then we got off on our exit there-??s no lights or no problems with the vehicle. I dropped off the first passenger and Lexington, Ohio, and then the second passenger lived about a half mile away, this time kept unloading their equipment. From Lexington to my home in Mansfield, Ohio the other passenger I was talking about the light transmission was weird and might-??ve been just a sensor. As we pulled onto Home road all the panel lights started flashing and then a message came across and said engine is shutting down. I put in park off the engine, we exit the vehicle and smoke was coming out from underneath the truck. I reached into the center council to grab the cell phones and had faster call 911 and when I reached back into the truck were coming out from underneath the hood. I notified General Motors on September 23 and have been battling them to get an inspection done. after several months, they have finally agreed with insurance company on terms to investigate what caused the fire. That inspection is to Take Pl., December 4, 2024. I have recently just seen the recall article on GMC that came out on November 13. My truck is listed in the article as far as your make and model. This was a transmission problem that GM is trying to ignore and should be held accountable. Have video of when it caught on fire and how quickly it burned up.

The truck caught on fire while I was returning from a trip out of state and then it appears it came from underneath either the transmission the engine or electrical. While returning home a message came on the panel on the highway, saying transmission, hot idle run I pulled off and did this and after about 15 minutes, the message light went off and I pursued Coming home nothing was wrong with the truck. After I dropped off to the passengers, I was on the way home and turned on home road and the message came on that says truck powering down all the lights came on the dashboard. I put the truck in park and shut the engine off had a manly open the doors and got out and smoke was rolling from underneath the truck. I grabbed the cell phones and told my passenger to call 911. I went back into the center of the cab to grab something out of the center council and flames came from underneath the hood up the glass of the windshield right in the middle of the truck. Backed away I called 911 again. Troy fire department responded in about six minutes. The truck was engulfed and gone. Ohio state patrol give me a claim number of [XXX] the instant [XXX]. There has been no problem with the truck or vehicle during the time I owned it. It was regularly service. It had 109667 miles on it. The truck was a 2020 Silverado from Bill Harris Ashland. I'm beginning to have similar problems with the 6.2 ecotec3 engine that gm has known problems and hasn't recalled them. Dealer indicates metal shavings from the main motor bearings. Just like others I will experience a total motor failure at anytime. This will be catastrophic if motor fails and shuts down. I fear I will be rear-ended or not be able to get out of harms way. This has happened to many with the same motor. Why would there not be a safety recall on a known safety issue. Others affected have been injured even killed because there vehicle just stopped in the middle of a roadway. I currently fear for my families safety and cannot simply opt out of a vehicle with only 18,000 and thousands invested. Instead it sits waiting for the right thing to be done. To be repaired to safely use. Thank you kindly.

I took my truck in for an oil change on 5/25 and 12 miles after words, my truck was thrown into reduced engine power mode, which dropped my speed unexpectedly as I was driving. Luckily, I was in a residential area so that did not affect my safety, but there is potential that someone could have this code come up on the highway and have their vehicle unexpectedly throttled in regards to speed. The reduced engine power mode was the result of a code related to an electrical issue that ended up being the coolant control valve for the engine. I took it to a Chevrolet dealership that did the oil change, and they inspected it and determined that that part was faulty And would need to be repaired. The problem comes intermittently because The dealership drove my truck some and the issue would occasionally go away. As the part needed is on a seven month back order, the vehicle is available for inspection if needed.

Problem started while driving on the highway, I was speeding up from the ramp to merge into the highway. As I got to 62 mph the dashboard started blinking that i could only go up to 62 mph max. Cruise control was not on. I drove to my destination at that speed with the message on the dashboard. I arrived at my destination, parked, turned it off, a couple of hours later turned it on to drive again. At this point, the dashboard message was that I could only drive it max speed 42 mph and "service tire monitor system" I towed to my mechanic given i could not drive at that speed on the highway back home. The mechanic said it was time for a brake change and that might be the issue. He changed all the brake pads and rotors and the truck drove fine again for less than a week. As i was getting on the highway, the truck started to jerk like it wanted to stop as i was speeding up, i was going 45 mph. There was a clanking sound coming from the engine. Then multiple things started flashing on the dashboard; check engine, traction control, messages reading "service parking brake" and "service ESC" I turned the truck off for a couple of minutes on the highway shoulder. Turned it back on, the same messages were still on the dash. I again could only drive it max in the 40's mph. The faster I tried to go, the more heavy and forced the truck felt. I had to park it over night in a parking lot. The next day i scheduled an appointment with a mechanic in town who checked it and said i would be needing a new engine, that he had seen this same problem a couple of weeks ago on a same truck. He quoted me $9K.I towed the truck back home and had another mechanic come take a look at it, he was getting the codes 0P50D and P0304.He exchanged the 4 cylinder for the good 1 cylinder to see if the codes would change from #4 to #1 and it did not. He said the issue was internal at that point and suggested I go take it to the dealership under the warranty. Its not under warranty, it ended at 60K miles and I have 80K now.

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle started shuddering, made an abnormal clunking sound, and lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove to the nearest independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the engine had experienced an internal failure. The mechanic determined that the crankshaft, the lifters, an unknown valve, and other unknown parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000.

Around 35k miles had an engine lifter fail and needed to be replaced, covered under warranty. 07/2023 - Had front pads/rotors replaced by Chevy dealer and had loud squeaking ever since. Contacted dealer and was told they are new pads so will just need time to break in. Contacted the dealer again in Sept.Oct. 2023 and brought vehicle in for service for noise concern. They informed me the noise is coming from the rear brakes that was reported as 60% life two months prior. They replaced the rear rotors/pads and noise persisted. Brought vehicle back to dealer in December, they performed a serviced but was ineffective. In March 24 started getting some vibrations when stopping. Brought vehicle for servicing, stated there are rust spots on rotors but everything is wearing fine so this will not be covered under warranty. Also that they do not warranty sounds due to pads can have more metallics then others and they cannot determine which ones do not. I looked under forums and GM Pads seem to be a common issue with noise. My truck was perfectly fine before these brake products were installed and I would like GM to be held accountable for there inferior products leading to loud break noises and violent vibrations while braking !
