Truck has been burning oil since it was purchased new in 2020. The truck has needed 6 quarts added between every oil change. It has been to the dealer and they insist nothing is wrong. GM customer service has been no help. Motor has a ticking noise. Finally 2 weeks ago check engine lights came on and loud noises came from motor. Brought it into the dealership and they said full lifter failure and engine scoring and has been like this for awhile now. This is something I brought up to them AND GM support over the last 4 years of owning the vehicle and they always told me there was nothing wrong with it. Private extended warranty is going to cover a new engine, but is on national backorder due to all the issues with the 6.2L engine and others having issues GM won-??t acknowledge.

While driving home truck began to misfire and drop in RPM-??s. Service ESC and Service Parking Brake popped up on my notification system. My Engine light was blinking and my Traction light was on. While i was turning into my street to get home, my engine shut off. The steering wheel and brakes became hard as the motor wasn't powering them. I was able to turn it on and get it into my drive way. Afterwards when trying to turn it on, it would turn on and shut off immediately. Chevy replaces a fuel pump module for a second time(recall), added a new starter and battery. After Three months they then told me I need a new engine because it has locked itself up. I purchased the vehicle with 32,000 miles and It currently has 49,000 miles. Chevrolet are not going to warranty me a new engine because i do my own oil changes (which were 2). Had this happened on the highway or in traffic, i would've been at a high risk of causing an accident considering power steering and brake system was not working properly.

While driving down road at around 60mph 6.2L engine started to make loud knocking noise and shaking violently while loosing all power. Truck had 79,797 miles on it at the time with all oil changes and service done at GM dealership. After having GM dealership diagnose truck, it was determined to have a spun rod bearing, causing multiple other engine components to fail. Truck was not under factory warranty and was quoted $12,200 to replace. There were no warning lights or any known issues until this incident.

Driving at the speed limit 65-70 miles ph my truck started to slow in speed the tire sensor came on then the truck began to smoke and the brakes locked up at a high speed, lucky for me there was no one behind me. I was able to limp to a safe spot and park the truck would not MOVE at all..After an hour I tried to move it again it would not go into drive. Had to tow it to the dealership..$$$$ later they say well we can't recreate the problem so it's drivable. I drive 2 blocks and it stops in traffic almost causing a collision. Had it towed home and for 3 moths now it has sat while I have to continue paying payments on a NON running 2020 with only 102 thousand miles on it this is CRIMINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was told possible $62k to repair but no guarantee it would stay fixed!!!!!!!!!! Criminal and should not be on me I am paying still. But if something is not done I will let it get repo..I am [XXX] old this was to be my last newer vehicle I have had to borrow money again and bought an older 03 silverado that is running great. On September 21, 2024 my Chevy 1500 series truck in the year was 2020. It was made caught on fire white driving it. We were returning from a trip pulling a trailer from Kentucky to Mansfield Ohio when we were on the highway. The transmission light/panel came across and said transmission need to engine idle. I drove it about 3 miles and pulled off on an exit at a gas station and did what it said after proximately 10 minutes. The message went off and cleared. we resume going home on our trip and we are 14 miles on the highway then we got off on our exit there-??s no lights or no problems with the vehicle. I dropped off the first passenger and Lexington, Ohio, and then the second passenger lived about a half mile away, this time kept unloading their equipment. From Lexington to my home in Mansfield, Ohio the other passenger I was talking about the light transmission was weird and might-??ve been just a sensor. As we pulled onto Home road all the panel lights started flashing and then a message came across and said engine is shutting down. I put in park off the engine, we exit the vehicle and smoke was coming out from underneath the truck. I reached into the center council to grab the cell phones and had faster call 911 and when I reached back into the truck were coming out from underneath the hood. I notified General Motors on September 23 and have been battling them to get an inspection done. after several months, they have finally agreed with insurance company on terms to investigate what caused the fire. That inspection is to Take Pl., December 4, 2024. I have recently just seen the recall article on GMC that came out on November 13. My truck is listed in the article as far as your make and model. This was a transmission problem that GM is trying to ignore and should be held accountable. Have video of when it caught on fire and how quickly it burned up.

The truck caught on fire while I was returning from a trip out of state and then it appears it came from underneath either the transmission the engine or electrical. While returning home a message came on the panel on the highway, saying transmission, hot idle run I pulled off and did this and after about 15 minutes, the message light went off and I pursued Coming home nothing was wrong with the truck. After I dropped off to the passengers, I was on the way home and turned on home road and the message came on that says truck powering down all the lights came on the dashboard. I put the truck in park and shut the engine off had a manly open the doors and got out and smoke was rolling from underneath the truck. I grabbed the cell phones and told my passenger to call 911. I went back into the center of the cab to grab something out of the center council and flames came from underneath the hood up the glass of the windshield right in the middle of the truck. Backed away I called 911 again. Troy fire department responded in about six minutes. The truck was engulfed and gone. Ohio state patrol give me a claim number of [XXX] the instant [XXX]. There has been no problem with the truck or vehicle during the time I owned it. It was regularly service. It had 109667 miles on it. The truck was a 2020 Silverado from Bill Harris Ashland. I'm beginning to have similar problems with the 6.2 ecotec3 engine that gm has known problems and hasn't recalled them. Dealer indicates metal shavings from the main motor bearings. Just like others I will experience a total motor failure at anytime. This will be catastrophic if motor fails and shuts down. I fear I will be rear-ended or not be able to get out of harms way. This has happened to many with the same motor. Why would there not be a safety recall on a known safety issue. Others affected have been injured even killed because there vehicle just stopped in the middle of a roadway. I currently fear for my families safety and cannot simply opt out of a vehicle with only 18,000 and thousands invested. Instead it sits waiting for the right thing to be done. To be repaired to safely use. Thank you kindly.
