I bought this vehicle new in Texas back in 2021. I had noticed the rocky shifting, but was told it was normal for trucks. Since the truck was new and this was my first truck, I didn't give it much thought. I use the truck as a daily driver and have all the records of servicing. I never haul anything with the truck and keep it clean. It never had any codes or anything.
Recently, I began working at Enterprise Car Rentals and had the opportunity to drive the new Chevy trucks, which had no issues. They changed so smoothly that I went online to see if my truck had a problem. When I took it in, my service adviser told me that sometimes just changing tires can cause the vibration and that my truck wasn't giving any error codes. I proceeded to write about my experience online, and that's when the online social media department reached out to me and booked an appointment for me to take the truck in for a thorough inspection.
I was informed today that the torque converter in the truck is faulty, but since I have exceeded 60,000 miles, the truck is no longer under warranty, and the repair cost is nearly $4,000. I encourage anyone who has a Chevy truck with vibration when changing gears they have the truck checked out thoroughly and not listen when the dealer tells you it's normal.
