Bought my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado GM certified with only 40,300 and our family took a vacation South and did a great job but coming back was a different story highway was great but when I got into town I was hearing a grinding noise and we turned left and that is when we heard a crack and after that I was thinking I had a flat tire so I pulled over and saw is was not the case so I left I when driving at low speeds it sounded like some was dragging and I made it home checked all levels on the fluids and where normal, then I called Chevy roadside assistance and was told that must tow the truck to my local Chevy dealership.I followed up with them and was told that the right side wheel bearing failed and luckily it was covered under warranty or it would of cost me $366.94 and I was told that they were not greasable and I have a older 80S Chevy and its never happened and I drove it for almost 50,000 and I still have it today. Not built good like they were.

The contact leases a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving at various speeds, the ABS indicator illuminated and then dimmed. Approximately three days later, while driving at highway speeds the contact heard scraping noises coming from the front driver's side tire and the vehicle shimmied. The vehicle was driven to a gas station and was losing braking power. The gas station attendant determined that the wheel bearing failed. No other warning indicators were illuminated on the instrument panel. The current mileage was 36,400 and failure mileage was 36,100. Updated 10/27/2008. The dealer found the a faulty left front hub-caliper bracket damaged due to excessive heat. The cv boot was torn due to excessive heat as well. Updated 10/27/08.

This vehicle is 9 months old. From purchase of the new vehicle there was a rattling noise under the dash - dealership replaced flex pipes. The noise has come back about 6 months later. From purchase of the new vehicle the left driver side mirror shakes, am unable to see out of it. Under the driver side seat, the truck shakes. Dealership refuses to admit these problems exist. The valves are clattering in the engine compartment while driving, not just with accelerating. Rotors act as though they are warped. Upon resetting the oil change indicator light, the battery failed. The dealership has refused to look into this.

I recently purchased a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, it is leaning very badly to the driver side of the vehicle. I was told the vehicle is not damaged, bent, or warped in any way. I was told it was just built "that badly, and should have never passed an inspection of any kind". the dealership first tried to use the slack adjuster bars that are made to adjust this kind of problem. This fix did not work since it was leaning so badly. They ordered special parts (a shim and longer U-bolts) and installed them a couple days later. This also did not come even close to fixing the problem, and I was once again sent on my way. I am now waiting for a response from GM, while I am still being forced to drive my unsafe vehicle which I feel is at great risk for a rollover.
