Failure of cruise control and trailer braking system while braking. Issue was a break in the wiring harness under the dash causing a short. Broken wire still had insulator in tact as if new. This seems to be an issue due to type or undersized wire as this is the second harness failure on the truck

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the third brake light was shifting out of place. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The dealer diagnosed that the interior of the third brake light housing was corroded with rust and, in due time, the light would fall out or cause a fire hazard. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 92,450.
