I had steering wheel turned all the way to the left, to pull into a parking lot, and attempted to turn wheel back all the way to the right to enter a parking space. When I attempted to turn back to the right, the engine RPM dropped and power steering failed. I was able to force the steering wheel through the turn to avoid hitting parked car, and power steering returned to normal after engine recovered. I have also had similar problem when attempting parking lot maneuvers and backing up trailers. Took to dealer where they showed me a print out that stated the problem exists, but is not recognized as a problem because power steering returns to "normal" when vehicle returns to normal driving conditions.

At low RPM's as in parking the power steering fails to work. The dealer pressure tested it an found nothing wrong, but the problem is always there when you actually drive it.

I was driving 35mph when my truck lost its stability control and droped me from 35 to 10 in a matter of seconds, and the car behind almost hit my truck. The power steering also was tough to operant. The truck has 44000 miles on it. What would happen if my truck was on the freeway?
