After researching the internet found that there was a recall on my 1999 for the brake lines. The brake lines are corroded and will need to be replaced. This recall would have fell under 00V345000. I would like to see if the recall is still in effect so that I can get these lines replaced.

I was driving at around 35 mph when I tried to brake and the brakes did not work. I tried the emergency brake and that wouldn't work either. I rolled to a stop and called a towing company. When I got out of the vehical there was break fluid leaking on the drivers side of the car. The vehical was towed to the dealership where I was informed that the brake line had bust. I was also told that the feul line was about to bust. The entire break and fuel lines were corroded and had to be replaced. It took the dealership 2 week to repair. The cost was over $2000.

Consumer states that when trying to apply the anti lock brakes the brakes will lock up, causing the vehicle to have extended stopping distance. Dealer notified. The brakes were soft. Braking fluid was placed in the vehicle and the consumer noticed a leak in the line. The mechanic noticed that the old line weren't the same as the new line and found that there was a recall (#00V345000). The line was worn from rubbing against the wall which caused the leak. The recall called for inspection on the right side but the left side had gone out. The consumer suggested that perhaps something was overlooked.
