Silverado 2500 LT 6.6L Duramax

prindl switch has gone out 7times

I am replacing the PRINDL switch for the 7th time. This time it went out after a car wash. I can't believe no one else with a Allison transmission hasn't had an issue with the switch. Does anyone know how to keep it from getting water inside or crud to screw it up.
