I'm writing this after two more sets of injectors had to be done. In addition the transfer case went out before I ever used the 4wd at less than 50K miles. The transfer case mechanism wore a hole in the case and burned it up per my mechanic. I've had 3 sets of injectors, two transfer cases, front end shaking that has never been resolved, rusty trim with 10,000 on truck (don't live on coast or in area that has salted roads), computer issues, vacuum pump failed, water pump failed, wiper washer failed, tail gate gables failed, tail gate trim fell out twice. Stereo failed and was replace under warranty but failed again and they refused to cover (has NEVER played a CD), electric seats failed, several little issues.

I used this truck for 120,000 to commute from Sacramento to Bay area. Never been off road. Never hauled my horses or my boat as I didn't trust it so bought a old Ford to haul my stuff. This is the worst vehicle I ever owned and Chevy failed to back any of it up. I bought it new for $45000, and have put over $20,000 into it. It has 135,000 miles of which 95% were freeway driving and it has been pampered. Oil changes every 2000 miles, service at dealer on schedule, no hard work, no off road, no after market additions, no over sized tires, no hauling heavy equipment. I will be filling out 20 of these or more for everything that has happened and Chevy did not stand behind their product. I'll also be starting a blog and doing everything possible to stop folks from buying these. I'm going to pay an employee in my business $5000/year to spend time warning folks and doing whatever possible to stop anyone from buying these trucks!!!

I had injector failure after owning the vehicle for 4 years and 70,000 miles. This is a diesel engine and you expect the engine to be reliable many more miles than this engine lasted. GM covered the cost for the repair by replacing all injectors on an extended warranty of 7 years or 200,000 miles whichever comes first. In June of 2011, the injector of the number 3 cylinder failed. This is after the 7 years provided for the extended warranty. I have to pick up the cost of $1500 for the repair. The bigger problem is when will the others fail. This is a 4x4 and I do a lot of back country hiking and fishing. I had no warning that the injector was failing and was stuck on the freeway in LA in the middle of rush hour traffic. Bad enough, what happens if I'm fishing or hiking in some remote area in the Sierras and can't get a cell? I have two other friends that have the same vehicle and their injectors failed. This seems to be inherent in this engine and GM did not fix the problem only extended the repair with a warranty that really was only extended two years beyond the original warranty and now can wash their hands of the problem. Is anyone else having this problem? Should some type of class action be taken against GM? Maybe I'm out of line, what do you think? It seems to me, if a repair is done for this issue, the warranty should be extended from that point not the point of purchase. If I decide to keep this vehicle, will I need to replace these injectors every 50,000 miles to avoid being stuck in some remote area?
