On January 2, 2008 while driving our 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 4X4 on a paved city street the two front tie rods snapped in half( driverside 1st, passenger isde 2nd) causing the truck to go out of control and skidding approximately 70 feet finally being stopped by a concrete curve. GM has refused to take any responsibility in the failure of their factory equipment. We purchaced the truck from our neighbor with a" fab tech" 6 in. Lift kit. The fab tech company also refuses to take any responsibility stated that they have seen many tie rod failures with the tie rods on GM trucks for several years and that that they have designed larger diameter tie rods that are sold as upgraded equipment with their lift kits.
