Drove 40 miles from work to home on Nov.25th and parked in my driveway. No issues. On Saturday, Nov.28th, attempting to leave driveway, had loss of steering and braking (no power assist) and rolled into street. Vehicle towed to local dealer. Cause was ruptured nitrogen cannister at hydroboost assembly with loss of power assist and contamination of fluids. Fortunately, I was in my driveway on not on the 40 mile trip to or from work on interstate highway.

Why hasn't there been a recall" how can I get the dealer to correct this flaw in their ABS system without paying $700"

The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the hydro boost lines failed and caused the leak. The contact was informed that if too much fluid was lost, the braking system would completely fail. The vehicle was repaired at the cost of $1,037.54. The manufacturer stated that there was a recall regarding the failure, but no compensation would be provided because the VIN was excluded. All four of his tires locked when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact drove through two bushes and struck a large traffic light pole. The vehicle sustained $7,000 worth of damages. A police report was filed. The contact has been in and out of the hospital since the crash. The manufacturer recalled the vehicles in the North of the United States, but not the South. The contact has a lawyer and spoke with the Chevrolet manufacturer regarding the brake failure. He no longer drives the vehicle in the rain. The failure mileage was 16,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado K2500 hd. While driving approximately 50 mph, the brakes failed when the contact depressed the brake pedal. He was able to bring the vehicle to a stop by applying the emergency brake. The dealer stated that the brake line failed due to defective welding of the rear driver's side brake shock absorber. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and they partially repaired the brakes. The contact took the vehicle to a second dealer and they stated that the brake line was partially welded and the failure could recur at any moment. They further stated that there was no evidence that the vehicle was driven on rough terrain; however, it was a factory defect. The manufacturer took a report, but will not authorize the dealer to complete the welding repair. The failure mileage was 29,000 and current mileage was 34,639.

In Nov. Of 2005 I purchased a Chevrolet Silverado, I have had nothing but problems with it. I have had the rear brakes and rotors replaced 3 times and the front once, also the fuel system had a problem, now they tell me that I need all tires replaced because the compound is bad.
